Awww, Emily from Carter's Chord and Trailer Choir's Butter expecting a baby

Emily and Butter
Baby news is always such happy news.

You might remember back in 2010 when Emily from Carter's Chord and Marc "Butter" Fortney from Trailer Choir surprised their family and friends by inviting them to a birthday party for Butter in Nashville and then surprising them all by having a surprise wedding ceremony instead.

Well first comes love, then comes marriage, then comes.....you know the rest.

Emily announced some happy news on the Carter's Chord website yesterday:

Hello all!

Emily and Butter here!

We wanted to make a little announcement this morning because we just can’t keep it in any longer.  Are you ready?  Is the anticipation killing you???? Drumroll please……

We would like to announce……..that this October…..we are expecting A BABY BOY!!!!!

We have waited to share the good news with all our fans and it feels so good to be able to tell the world!  We feel incredibly blessed to be embarking on this new part of our lives and can’t wait to be parents to our little boy.  God is oh so good.

Hope to see all of you at CMA Music Fest next week.  You can’t miss the baby bump!!

XOXOXO from Emily, Butter and baby boy :-)

Country Music + Toby Keith + “Tailgate” = An Awesome CD By Trailer Choir

Trailer_Choir-Tailgate_3

If you don’t have a copy of Trailer Choir’s CD “Tailgate” in your collection, you had better get to “Rockin’ the Beer Gut” and head on out to the nearest store and getcha one!!!

“Tailgate” is a product of Toby Keith’s “Show Dog-Universal Music” label and, the Tobster himself, along with Mark Wright, even produced a few of the songs on this new CD. Awesome job Toby and Mark! Looks like Show Dog-Universal Music is home to a lot of Nashville talent these days, and this CD by Trailer Choir is certainly proof of that talent.

The title track, which is the same name as the CD, “Tailgate,” is a rockin’ country song that will get any listener in the mood to take the old pick-up truck to the nearest open field, call a few buddies up, and start grillin’ and chillin’ for the rest of the afternoon. If you don’t believe it, then skip on over to track No. 9, “Rockin’ the Beer Gut”; then backtrack to “Tailgate” and head on out to that open field --- if for some odd reason after these songs you still aren’t all pumped up and ready for a tailgate party, then take a listen to track No. 10 “Off the Hillbilly Hook” -- a country rap song done in good taste!

Ok -- now that you are ready to tailgate and got that old pick-up truck out in the field with your buddies, keep on listening to Trailer Choir’s CD. Track No. 7 “In My Next Five Beers” is guaranteed to get everyone singin’ along -- about their ambitions – or lack thereof, and definitely hits right on target with the mood of the party.

While most CDs usually have a few “filler” songs to make the ten song count, that’s not the case with “Tailgate.” All ten songs on this CD are upbeat country tunes sure to keep a good time rollin’ on and on and on. You won’t be sorry you added this CD to your collection, that’s for sure.

This set of ten songs is a perfect “10” for Trailer Choir and Show Dog-Universal Music!!!

Surprise....Butter gets married

Emily Mark Butter Fortney

Awwww, how much fun is a surprise wedding?  No wondering about the date, the dress, the location, the honeymoon.  No daily Entertainment Tonight coverage.  No magazine covers about how the bride is getting in shape for her big day.

Kind of refreshing really.

Well Mark "Butter" Fortney, the smaller of the two guys from Trailer Choir, got married on Monday to Emily from Carter's Chord and the announcement was made in a most 2010 way....via Twitter.

First, Big Vinny (the big man in Trailer Choir) announced via his Twitterthat he was the plus-sized ring bearer at his band-mate's nuptials.

Then Emily herself chimed in via Carters Chord's Twitter.

Funny enough it seems like the wedding was a surprise to more than just country fans.  Emily's mom wrote on her Twitter, "My daughter Emily just married Marc Fortney "Butter" in a surprise ceremony!"

Congrats to the happy couple!

Okay children, don't try this at home

Random act of country singer silliness here.  The Barnyard (my radio buddy Broadway) had this video of Butter from Trailer Choir showing us some car surfing.  And as the extremely appropriate title says, don't try this at home - well unless of course you don't mind scratched paint, broken windshield wipers, and probably broken bones and casts.

So there was a reason Justin Moore was singing the Cher song

It's all very clear now.

The other day (or was it yesterday? I can't keep track) I had a link that someone had shared with me of Justin Moore singing Cher's Just Like Jesse James and I thought he was just being goofy.  Well Jason sent me a link to a contest that WQDR 94.7 is having between Justin, Trailer Choir, and Love & Theft (who seems to have been replaced by Telluride) so it appears there was actually a method to Justin's madness.

From the radio station: Justin Moore, Love & Theft, and The Trailer Choir have all entered their
best cover of a non-country classic in Billy Dukes' first ever "Oh No They Didn't Contest." Watch All three, then vote on your favorite. The Winner will be announced Friday night, live from Nashville
http://www.947qdr.com/listingsEntryHeadline.asp?ID=565167=

And here's the videos.  Who do you think did a better job?
