New SHeDAISY music finally coming our way?

SHeDAISY
Fans haven't been graced with a new SHeDaisy album since 2004's 'Sweet Right Here', but it sounds like there's finally something in the works.

On Tuesday evening, one of the gals posted on the group's official Facebook:

We had a GREAT day in the studio today with some amazing musicians and creative team. Getting pumped with this NEW music! Just you wait...

Personally I'm tired of waiting, but as long as there's light at the end of the tunnel, I think I can wait just a little bit longer.

Get it in gear girls, I miss you!

UPDATE: My Bad. As commenter Jordan pointed out, I wrongly listed "Sweet Right Here" as SHeDAISY's last album when in fact "Fortuneteller's Melody" from 2006 is their last album. Funny enough, Google didn't list the 2006 album for some reason and I went by what they had.

SHeDAISY is raking in the BIG bucks

 Shedaisy royalties

I love this. It's always fun to get a reality check when it comes to a celebrity.

If you're like me, you think when a singer/songwriter has a song featured in a movie, they're set for life and can just sit back and let the royalty checks roll in.

The gals of SHeDAISY recently showed their fans on Twitter and Facebook that it really makes a big difference WHAT movie your song is featured in when they posted a picture of a recently received $12.07 royalty check from the 1999 Disney classic Doug's 1st Movie, saying:

Had to, just had to. It was JUST funny enough, and not too awkward

And then:

Me too! Me too! Doug's 1st movie is racking it in for us. :o) Hmmm, wondering why there was never a sequel?

Cute.  Guess we know who's buying Starbucks today.

Here's a video where you get to meet Melissa.

Melissa likes tattoos.

She also likes celebrity autographs.

Melissa combined her love of tattoos and celebrity autographs and has the proof all over her body.

She also likes SHeDAISY.

You can probably guess the rest.

Kassidyobornwedding Everyone, it's time to send out a big congrats to SHeDAISY singing sister, Kassidy, who recently got married in a private ceremony to Derek Williamson at the LDS Temple in San Diego according to Music City TV.

“For being one of the most important days of my life, it couldn’t have been more perfect and beautiful!” Kassidy said in a statement.

SHeDAISY are currently putting the finishing touches on their upcoming new album and have just joined the Twitter craze (follow them @SHeDAISY).  The ladies have also just recently started blogging so be sure to check them out http://www.shedaisy.com/sisterblog.html.

SHeDAISY blogs and vids

Their new album is getting ready to hit stores sometime this spring, and now the blog posts and videos are starting to hit the net.

I love when the artists have something to sell, we tend to see them SOOOO much more.

One of the gals hit their MySpace to update us on what the hell is going on with their album...

Well, even I myself am beginning to wonder WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON WITH THIS RECORD!!! I just wanted to make sure that I said that. Clearly, plans have changed as they do usually but that doesn't change how thrilled we are and anxious to release this music and to get out and play it live. The bummer about schedule change is that I am a Virgo and that doesn't usually sit well with me, good news is that there are two other crazies in this band, but a different kind of crazy, so it works out nicely. I digress.
We are impatient, and very excited to get the music out there, but there is a teeny tiny itty bitty bit more to do, and I guess patience shall be tried. Or tired. Or both. We just wanted to say hello to everyone, and swear "the baby is coming, the baby IS coming!"
I feel like I have been incubating for a year and a half! It all is very unusual, the way we music types do business, sometimes I wonder HOW we can even call it a business, it is so bizarre and unpredictable. Oh, wait, that DOES IN FACT define "business' these days! Anyhoo, life is busy, and good, and the band is killer and my house stopped leaking and as my astute younger brother said as he quoted two of his favorites, "Fear is an illusion, and the sun will come out tomorrow". I think. I could have completely screwed that one up, but it is from Michael Jordan and Annie, which I find mildly amusing. Maybe he meant "The sun is an illusion and fear will come out tomorrow, so eat drink and be merry". I like that one. I am off to eat drink and be merry and listen to "A Story To Tell".....hmmmmmmm, wanna hear it too?!

Check out the rest of the post here.  And for your viewing pleasure, here's a video of the girls doing a rehearsal recently.

New SHeDAISY in the near future

Shedaisy

Hey, hey, hey, guess who has new music coming out?

Alright, not a big surprise since it says in my post title. I suppose I should work on the whole suspense thing.

SHeDAISY sisters, Kristyn, Kassidy, and Kelsi Osborn, are releasing their fourth studio album, A Story To Tell, this spring.

I've always loved SHeDAISY so I'm pretty excited about this.  Any other SHeDAISY fans in da house?

Update:  A reader corrected me and stated that this will actually be their fifth studio album and they are correct, I was just going along with what my source said so my bad.  You can view a list of plus buy all of SHeDAISY'S albums here.

SHeDAISY is still around

Shedaisy

Whatever happened to SHeDAISY?  I really thought they were great but they sorta just went away as so often happens to great acts.  Well one of the ladies posted a blog on their MySpace so at least we know they're still kicking around somewhere....

Farewell to the most bizarre year ever....

As I sit here in my Christmas jammies, yes the very ones that my mom buys us every single year so we can ALL foolishly match, I am contemplating many things. First of all, I am still hungry even after two hard boiled eggs (what does that mean?!), secondly I have GOT to get dressed and begin the preparations for my New Year's Eve gathering, and finally, WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO 2008?! Seriously, is it just me, or was this single handedly the most bizarre year in recent time? Even more disconcerting, is the fact that it was like a vapor. I wonder if this is how time will manifest it's mocking face from this point on? When I was a kid, all of the "old timers" would admonish me to "enjoy every single moment of being a kid, because before you know it, you will have to be a grown up" and I was THRILLED at the prospect of being a grown up. Now, I look back at things in life, and I wish I could go back and sit squarely in those moments, and breathe them all in, let them settle on my skin like little butterflies, and enjoy them...like I didn't before. The real test this year, and maybe for many more to come, will be to learn to observe and appreciate the moments I have, when I have them. If anyone has a secret to this kind of discipline, please share.
A dear friend of mine sent me a book in the mail, I am not exactly sure why this book, I suppose just because he does stuff like that for me now and then. His note attached read "I thought maybe you'd get some good song inspiration out of this" and I understand why once I cracked the spine. It is a very interesting read, when in a contemplative state, almost painful. When looking at my own life, even over the last year, I spent so much time regretting, or wishing and wondering. This book, "PostSecret" is an interesting view of humanity, and unabashed honesty. Suddenly, I realize that EVERYBODY is broken in one way or another, and the comfort is in the knowing that we aren't alone. I was flipping through some of these pages, and as I was "contemplating" a new year in my life, I considered all of these things, all of these moments. I DO want to live IN them, and learn FROM them. That is how I want to look back on my life, to remember not what I did or didn't do, but how it FELT when I did or didn't do it. Is that possible? If it is, I want to discover the secret.
(pause)
By the way, "HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL YOU SYDNEY FOLKS, INCLUDING MOM AND DAD!" Just saw the fireworks in Sydney Harbor...

OK, back to my thoughts....
Wait, where did they go?! Oh ok...found them.
I really do want to make some changes, live my truth, I wish the very same for all of you this new year. I wish lots of other things too for you, but those are secret...he he. This year will prove to be a juxtaposition of sorts I believe: a year of great promise, and a year of pessimism, of hope and heaviness. I am banking on the promise. Happy New Year everyone, all you beautiful, broken people!!!! I hope to see a lot of you in 2009, we can share ol' war stories....:)
