Mindy McCready Commits Suicide

Mindy-McCready-300x290

Well, it appears everything got too much for the troubled starlet. It has been reported that the 37-year-old mother-of-two shot both herself and her dog yesterday (February 17th), and her body was found after the sound of gunshots alarmed neighbors. This is after the apparent suicide (inflicted by gunshot wound) of her boyfriend David Wilson (who was also the father of her youngest son, who is 10 months old), followed by Mindy falling into alcohol-fuelled depression. Her children were taken into care just a week or so ago, and Mindy was first committed to inpatient care for her problems, quickly being moved into outpatient because everything has apparently been put into perspective for her.

Unfortunately, it was not to be. With a history of violence, trouble with the law and alcohol and prescription drug abuse, sadly I am almost not surprised that Mindy chose to end it. Sometimes the price of fame is too much, and we can only hope that Mindy’s family can pull together for the love and stability of the children she left behind.

The Mindy McCready Drama Unfolds...

Mindy_McCready_Dateline_interview

After I informed you of the investigation potentially enquiring whether Mindy McCready murdered her boyfriend, David Wilson, it seems everything has gotten a whole lot sadder. It was announced yesterday that Mindy’s two children, aged 6 years and 9 months old, were taken into care by Arkansas authorities, with today it emerging on The Boot that Mindy has been committed to a mental health facility by a judge for 21 days, following a hearing. An ‘insider’ claims she has also not stopped drinking since the passing of her boyfriend, as she is struggling to cope with the loss. With Mindy’s tainted history, it’s sad but unsurprising to hear.

Autopsy results are yet to surface to determine whether Wilson’s death was a suicide or not (as originally stated). It’s all very sad, and I send my best wishes to everyone involved and hope they get things sorted.

But what do you think of all this? Let us know in the comments.

R.I.P. Pickles Pickler

Kellie-pickler

Oh man, I'm so sad now.  Happy Hump Day indeed.

I had mentioned earlier that Kellie had done an interview yesterday with Charlotte Today and mentioned she didn't have a cat anymore.  But what happened to Pickles?

Well it's worse than I thought.  Pickles apparently recently died.

Reader, Greta, dug up this article that went along with Kellie's video interview and here's what it had to say about poor Pickles.

When she’s away from home she misses her animals.  Her cat recently died and it showed how much she loves animals when Larry Sprinkle walked into the studio with this week’s Tailwagger.  It’s a cat named Lewis.

So unfulfilling. I want to know what happened to Pickles.  It's always so traumatizing to lose a beloved pet, I'm really surprised that nothing more's been said about the subject.

Well R.I.P. Pickles, this blogger will definitely miss the sweet pictures Kellie liked to post on her MySpace.

Sad day for Gary Allan

Garyallan

My heart goes out to Gary Allan whose dad, Harley Herzberg, passed away yesterday, 9/24.

Rather than flowers or cards the family asks that donations be made to the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center here.

Chris Cagle missed an interview when his dog died

Chris_cagles_dogs

Awww, sad stuff.  Chris Cagle is set to perform a concert at the Kuss Auditorium in Springfield, Ohio on September 13, but before he takes the stage he was supposed to do an interview.  It was an interview he missed.

The interviewer later talked to Cagle who explained that his dog, Capone (the brown and white dog above), had died.

"I don't want to talk about it," he barked a few days later.

So, what was the dog's name?

"What did I just say?"

When Chris Cagle says don't talk about something, I think he means it.  I forgive the guy tho, losing a pet is tough, I know, I've lost a couple of good ones myself in the last couple of years.

Chris did finally give an interview.  You can read it here.

Sad news, concert not only raucous but also deadly

As I reported earlier, after the Kenny Chesney concert in New England at the New England Country Music Festival on Saturday, the crowds got pretty rowdy and a total of 76 people were detained.  Now the cops are saying that most of the problem was caused by nonticket holders.

So people go to a concert without tickets?  Why?  Are they hoping to find scalpers to sell them tickets?  Someone please explain it to me because that really seems sorta stoopid.

Anyway, the saddest part of the story is the fact that two girls, age 19 and 20, died after their car hit a tree coming home from the stadium.  A third girl was seriously injured but survived.

Please, please, please, learn from this crazy concert, don't visit the stadium unless you have a ticket, it only makes sense.

R.I.P. cool teacher

Pausch_randy

All kinds of non-Nashville stuff today.

I don't know if you all seen the Oprah a while back when she had the show with the professor who gave the "Last Lecture" speech at Carnegie Mellon and became a YouTube phenomenon.  He was dying of pancreatic cancer and was given a three-to-six-months-to-live prognosis and made the most of the time he had left.  It was very moving.  Professor Randy Pausch sadly passed away today, July 25, 2008.

He will be missed by all who were touched by his teaching, the video, and the subsequent book written about him.

You can watch the hour-long video here.  It's well worth it.

Clint Black loses a trusted friend

Clintandlisa

Sad, sad news.

Nashville Kat says she talked to Clint Black and found out that he had lost his beloved yellow lab Sunny to a seizure on Sunday. I feel for Clint and his family, losing a pet is always tough.

The picture above is of course not a yellow lab and so by my masterful powers of deduction, I've figured out this is not Sunny, but it's the best I could do.

Clint's family does have another dog (perhaps the black lab above), but he hopes to get another dog in time.  His 7-year-old daughter, Lily, says she hopes they wont be a one-dog family.  Awww, now that's sweet.
