No baby name yet, but we finally got confirmation that Randy Houser and his wife Jessa Lee welcomed a new baby boy into their family today.

From the press release:

Country star Randy Houser and wife, Jessa Lee Houser beamed with pride this morning as they welcomed their first child, a baby boy, into the world. Weighing in at 6 lbs., 11 oz. and a whopping 19 inches long, the little one will have big ‘boots’ to fill following in the shadow of his talented CMA/ACM nominated “Boots On,” and “Anything Goes,” hit-making father, but to Houser and Yantz, he is the greatest gift they could ever receive. The happy couple married in a private ceremony in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic last year.
To top off a year of positive life-changing milestones, Houser is newly signed with Stoney Creek Records and will release a brand-new single to radio in May, off of his highly-anticipated third album which will hit stores later this year. Houser recently announced several new tour dates for this summer, so to find out if he'll be coming to a city near you, visit www.RandyHouser.com.

Randy Houser's wife's Twitter was full of clues to their upcoming arrival

Jessa Lee pregnant

As I mentioned earlier, Randy Houser and his lovely wife, Jessa, reportedly welcomed a new son this morning (or last night depending on the report).

I was definitely surprised.

I've spoken to a few folks on Twitter and it appears that there may never have been an official announcement that the pair were expecting a baby, but as @PattiTib pointed out, Randy's wife Jessa Lee gave lots of clues...like having maternity photo shoots and tweets about her baby shower.

The bad thing is I follow Jessa on Twitter and have since the pair married.  I went back and looked at her Twitter account and there are loads of Tweets about her pregnancy.

Oops.

Oh well, it's nice when a celebrity is able to keep such a sweet time in their life private.

Randy Houser and wife welcome first baby

Okay, funny question.  Were we aware that Randy Houser and his new wife, Jessa Lee, were expecting a baby?  I can't remember hearing any news about them expecting and I've Googled and can't find a single thing. Either I completely missed the announcement or there never was one.

Either way, congratulations are in order because according to All Access, Randy and Jessa welcomed their first baby into this crazy, crazy world last night, March 5. The baby, a bouncing baby boy, weighed in at a respectable 6 pounds 10 ounces.

Congrats to the newly expanded family.

Update: Randy tweeted this morning, March 6, "i'm about to be a daddy!" so All Access seem to have gotten the date wrong.  I don't know for sure.  I will update just as soon as I get the official press release or Randy says something public.

Break out the bubbly boys because Randy Houser got hitched

Well a big ol' congratulations going out to Randy Houser who got married to his fiancé, Jessa Lee Yantz, on Friday in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.

People.com reports that the couple, who announced their engagement in July, were married in front of 20 family members and close friends and had their buddy Rob Hatch perform the sunset ceremony.  The couple reportedly sealed the deal with vows they wrote themselves.

Well sheesh, I never even got to talk about that 300-diamond engagement ring.  That'll teach me to procrastinate.

Randy Houser is engaged to a good sport "American Idol" loser

Randy Houser Jessa Lee Yantz engaged

On Friday, news came out on People.com that Randy Houser was engaged to the very-beautiful-from-the-side Jessa Lee Yantz, a fellow singer/songwriter.

Just lovely.

I planned on eventually getting around to mentioning it, but then this morning I read over on WYRK that Randy's lady love was on last season's American Idol.  Now that's interesting.

What's even more interesting is that she seemed so dang sweet and gave up her dream of being on the show to help out a fellow contestant who appeared to be a pariah on the show.

I didn't watch the show even one time last season, but from what I can gather from the video, contestant Tiffany Rios must have been a trouble maker or difficult or something, I don't know, and couldn't find any other contestants to partner up with her during Hollywood Week.

That's when Jessa stepped in.  She left a group who appeared to be pretty good to join up with Tiffany because she apparently felt bad for her.  Their performance was less than stellar and they were voted off by the judges.  Who knows how far Jessa could have gone if she had just chosen to not be such a nice person.

But that's showbiz for ya. You win some and you sometimes get a terrible duet partner.

Check out Jessa helping out her fellow contestant below.

Of note is that she goes by Jessica on AI but is called Jessa in the People.com article.  I thought for a minute maybe it wasn't in fact the same person, but after watching this video, it's easy to tell it's the same girl.

Randy Houser goes to jail

Randy Houser goes to jail
Kix Brooks is busy in his after-Brooks-and-Dunn career as an actor.  He just finished up filming "Thriftstore Cowboy" and has already moved onto his next movie project - "To Kill a Memory."

In the movie Kix plays bank robber ring leader, Duke Donovan.  According to OldTuscon.com:

The storyline for the film is set in the 1920’s, when young newspaper journalist Jesse Helms (Andrew Walker – The Gundown, Steel Toes), sets out to learn the truth behind one of the most notorious bank heists in western history, “The Mid-Day Massacre,” and its infamous ring leader Duke Donovan (Kix Brooks – Brooks & Dunn, Thrift Store Cowboy), a legendary lawman gone bad. Visiting the estate of a reclusive millionaire named Seymour Redfield (James Karen – The Pursuit of Happiness, Mulholland Dr.), Helms soon learns that things may not have been what they appeared, as Redfield recounts the events that conspired to bring Donovan to justice in the 1890’s. A sweeping, action-packed saga of the old west in the vein of Unforgiven and The Shawshank Redemption, To Kill A Memory also stars Ernie Hudson, Sydney Penny, Timothy Murphy, Abraham Benrubi, William Shockley, Brent Briscoe, Ronnie Blevens, and Paul McCarthy Boyington.

Also appearing in the film is Randy Houser.  Check out the picture above that Kix posted on his Facebook of Randy headed to the slammer.

Randy Houser gets a new Harley - possibly adding a sidecar for Lee Brice

Randy Houser gets a new Harley - possibly adding a sidecar for Lee BriceFamous people are always getting new expensive toys, but rarely do we get to follow along for all the fun.

Check out the video of Randy Houser getting a brand spanking new Harley that he will have out on tour with him.  And watch for the part where Randy and the interviewer start talking about stuffing Lee Brice into a sidecar.  Pretty funny stuff.

Jealous here.

If you have the perfect spot for Randy to ride, he wants to hear about it. Just tweet him @randyhouser.

The honky tonk with a sense of humor...Tootsie's presents Randy Houser with a customized fire extinguisher

Gotta love a bar with a sense of humor.

Back in March, Randy Houser's tour bus caught fire causing him and his band to lose clothes, gear, and personal items.

Skip ahead two months and Tootsie's Orchid Lounge decided to make sure that Randy never had a fire problem again....by giving him a customized fire extinguisher.

Before Randy's performance on Tuesday at The Grand Ole Opry, Jim "The Governor" Hill from Tootsie's and Little Jimmy Dickens presented Randy with a Tootsie's adorned purple commemorative fire extinguisher.

“Randy has been so good to Tootsie's over the years, so we just wanted to make sure we showed him how much we appreciate his friendship and support," said Hill. “We were so sorry to hear about his losses in the bus fire, so we thought a Tootsie's-branded fire extinguisher would give him a little laugh and keep him a little safer out there on the road from now on.”

Too funny.

Gary Allan says keep your hands to yourself

Gary Allan's getting ready to have vocal cord surgery in December, but before he does he's been rocking Keep Your Hands to Yourself with with Randy Houser and Jerrod Niemann during concerts.  Check out this great video of the trio killing it at the Fox Theater on 11/18/10.

{Video via B93}

Randy falls
And speaking of the trio doing this song, check out this video below from an earlier concert of the boys performing the song when Randy Houser fell flat on his ass.

Now I'm not one to laugh at people falling onstage.....oh wait, yeah I am.  Ha ha ha ha ha.

Randy Houser--They call me Cadillac

When I got this CD in the mail......I did not wait ONE little second!!! I opened it immediately, to begin my "official review"! (hey, it's a hard job, I know!)

So, it only took me a second to remember that the sound of his voice, mixed with the mad skills of the musicians he works with, is enough to keep me listening all day!

This CD is NO exception! His talents are crazy good, and Country Music is just that much better because we have the likes of Randy Houser!

Not to mention, that his bad boy look mixed with his country boy charm, is enough to make me swoon, driving down the road!

What? Another track or two...yes, please! I'll keep listening!

...and I did!

I also love that you can find some of the background info on the songs on his site.

Here's what he has to say about the Title Song "They call me Cadillac"

"My buddy Davidson just started calling me 'Cadillac' one day. Everybody asks me how he came up with that name, and I just tell them "it's because I like everything real smooth. I like everything laid back like that. I don't like anyboyd messing with my good time'! Along those same lines, Brice [Long] and I were on the bus and I started playing that bluesy lick and the verse just came out. "I've been known to lay around all day...." The rest of it came flying out, like it was one of those things that just cosmically happened.  I couldn't think of a better name for the record."

The history on this project:
Randy Houser's second album, They Call Me Cadillac, will be released Sept. 14 by Show Dog-Universal Music. Houser wrote the first single from the album, "I'm All About It." Lee Ann Womack sings harmony on one of the tracks, "Addicted." The album was co-produced by Cliff Audretch and Mark Wright. "I put my heart into this record," Houser said. "We went into the studio with a direction in mind, conceptually, for the album, and the result is something I'm really proud of. I think people are ready to hear real country music again, and I'm one of them." Houser's hits include "Anything Goes," "Boots On" and "Whistlin' Dixie."
