Before American Idol Phil Stacey was in the Navy (he's still a member of the Navy Reserves). While on active duty Stacey wrote a song called "Old Glory." Being the patriotic guy that he is, Stacey has decided to release the song to country radio stations in honor of the upcoming 4th of July holiday.
“Phil has been playing this song during radio visits, his live shows and even a few weeks ago at the Grand Ole Opry where he got a standing ovation,” said Lyric Street VP Promotion Kevin Herring. “The song always gets a great reaction and we’ve fielded a lot of calls from our friends in radio asking where they can get the song.”
“I’m proud to have the chance to record this song,” said Phil Stacey. “I wrote it several years ago while I was still in the Navy and it means a lot to get to share it with all the country music fans to honor our service members.”
Enjoy the patriotism in the video below.
