Loretta Lynn is being forced to cancel some upcoming shows, but luckily it's not because the 76-year-old country icon is ill, instead it's because she's having knee surgery.
All Access is reporting that Loretta's doctor has ordered her to rest following upcoming knee reconstruction surgery, which means that all tour dates until September 3rd will be put on hold.
Lynn says, “I’m sad to have to cancel any shows for my fans, but they tell me I’ve just got to stay off this knee for a while.”
Shows will be rescheduled and any tickets fans have will be honored. Be sure to visit Loretta's website to find out any further info including rescheduled dates.
Listen up all you retro folks out there that love a good record....Loretta Lynn's critically acclaimed Van Lear Rose is coming out for the first time on vinyl.
The inaugural vinyl edition of Loretta Lynn’s Van Lear Rose is mastered directly from the original analog masters, pressed on heavyweight 180-gram vinyl and coupled with a vibrant Stoughton tip-on sleeve. There will be a limited edition blue vinyl pressing of 300, 100 copies of which will be sold at Third Man Records in Nashville on Aug. 9th from 12 noon. Anyone get the chance to watch the Ghost Adventures team on The Travel Channel last night? They investigated Loretta Lynn's historic plantation house in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee, and Loretta even made an appearance on the show to share some of her experiences.

One of my Friday night T.V. staples is Ghost Adventures on the Travel Channel so this story excites me to no end.
Loretta Lynn has said for a long time that she believes her Hurricane Mills, Tennessee plantation house is haunted. Now fans will get the chance to possibly catch a glimpse of what Loretta's been talking about all these years.
Zak, Nick, and Aaron from Ghost Adventures recently got the chance to perform their very first celebrity ghost investigation when they visited Loretta's home. Not only did the trio get to investigate her home, but Loretta makes an appearance on the show to help explain some of the encounters she has had at the house. You can read a full account of the ghostly happenings at the mansion here.
Reportedly, the ghost hunter gang get some pretty interesting evidence including a voice clearly calling out Loretta's name.

Now this has got to be one of the biggest compliments Faith Hill has ever gotten.
Loretta Lynn recently chatted with USA Today about her tribute album (out today) and upcoming tribute at the CMAs tomorrow and throws around some huge compliments for some of today's country gals.
About Faith Hill's rendition of Love Is the Foundation, "I ain't going to sing it no more — it's fantastic," Lynn says. "She made me ashamed I ever sung it."
Wow.
She also goes on to compliment Carrie Underwood who sings You're Lookin' at Country on the tribute CD. She says, she's "one of the best country singers who's come along in a long time."
Loretta also doesn't care that Carrie came to country via American Idol. "Well, big deal! She got here!"
One of the biggest interview surprises comes from just who Loretta Lynn wanted but couldn't get.
Pink.
Lynn's biggest disappointment: Pink, who had hoped to record Fist City, couldn't get the OK from her record company and had to back out.
Pink on a Loretta Lynn tribute, now that could have been interesting.
