Martina McBride relocates family temporarily to pursue daughter's dream

Martina McBride and daughters
Wow, this is so awesome of Martina McBride.

Martina took to her blog on Sunday to let fans know about her family's plans for this summer which includes heading to Los Angeles for a few weeks so that her daughter can pursue her acting dream.

From Martina's blog...

Hey everybody

Our family is getting ready to embark on a great adventure and I wanted to share it with all of you. We are moving to Los Angeles for the next few weeks! My middle daughter, Emma, has always wanted to try her hand at acting and so we have enrolled her in a couple of acting classes and workshops in LA this month so that she can see if it's something she wants to pursue. This could be the beginning of realizing her dream, which is a beautiful thing. I know how supportive my parents were at her age and how they did everything possible to help me be able to sing wherever and whenever I could and I'm happy we can do the same for her.

We just landed not long ago and got to check out the house we are renting while we are here. We love it! We are also excited about the food, the shopping, and the glorious weather. Especially the food and the shopping!

I am also working some while we are thre and I'm excited about being a part of the show Opening Act for E! Channel. It debuts Monday night, July 9, at 10/9 Central on E! I think it's a really cool show and idea. I love being part of making someone's dreams come true!

Anyway, I just wanted to share our latest news with you. The idea of picking up and moving somewhere new is kind of crazy and kind of amazing! will be tweeting and updating you on how everything is going over the next month so you can share in our journey. I have a feeling something really magical is going to happen, not only for Emma, but for all of us.

Stay tuned....
Love
Martina

What a wonderful thing to be able to do for your kid. If my mom had been able to do this for me when I was a kid, I might have become the mime I know I was always meant to be.

Jay DeMarcus taking his daughter's hands and feet on tour with him this summer

Jay DeMarcus cute guitar
Awww, now just how flippin' cute is that?

Jay DeMarcus is getting ready to head out with the rest of his Rascal Flatts bandmates on their Changed Tour June 15th, which means that he's going to be away from his sweet daughter Madeline Leigh, 18 months, a lot.  To help soften the blow, he had a special guitar designed to take with him.

The black guitar has pictures of madelin's hands and feet along with "I love you daddy" painted in colorful lettering.

So creative.  Check out the video of Jay seeing the guitar for the first time below. Madeline is one special little lady to have a daddy who loves her THAT much.

Glen Campbell's son would like to reunite with his dad before it's too late

Glen campbellPhoto via Glen Campbell website

Glen Campbell announced last year that he had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, a disease that doesn't leave much hope for the long term.

My father-in-law passed away in January from the disease, trust me, Alzheimer's is a bitch.

Now Glen's recovering drug addict son has realized that he may not have that long left to reunite with his father and is reaching out.

Kane, who has battled drug addiction and recently was released from a California prison after being incarcerated on vandalism charges, recently reached out to guaranteed-payday The National Enquirer to let the world know that he wants to reunite with his father but isn't having much luck.

He tells the rag mag, "I know I haven't led the life my father would have liked, but I still love him and I'd do anything to see him again," Kane said. "I got out of prison about a year ago and I'm sober and trying to get my life back on track."

"I don't want my dad to die thinking I was the son who never got his life together," Kane added. "I just want one more chance to tell him that I love him and that I'm sorry – and I want to say goodbye."

According to the magazine, they contacted Glen and his response was: "I've heard my son Kane is out of prison and I would be glad to help him out."

Sigh.  If you want to reunite with your father, I somehow don't think going to The National Enquirer is the right way to do it.

Let's just hope these two can mend fences before it's too late.

Josh Kelley and wife Katherine Heigl reveal new daughter's name

Josh Katherine and NaleighJosh, Katherine, and first daughter Naleigh via People.com

Josh Kelley and his actress wife, Katherine Heigl, recently added to their growing family by adopting a new baby girl. but had decided to keep the baby's name a secret for a little while.

Today the couple finally revealed her name to People.com.

The couple’s latest addition — a newborn girl adopted domestically — is named Adalaide Marie Hope, the actress’s rep tells PEOPLE.

She joins big sister Naleigh, 3½, whom Heigl, 33, and Kelley adopted from South Korea in 2009.

Adalaide Marie Hope.  How sweet is that? Heigl says the name was inspired by several things.

"Her full name is Adalaide Marie Hope Kelley - Adalaide because of my great-grandmother, Marie after my middle name, and Hope because that is what the process became."

I'm not big on two middle names or two first names or however they define this, but it's still sweet as can be and completely normal, unlike so many other celebrity baby names.

So far only photos of the newest Kelley-Heigl family member to hit the web are of her in an infant carrier all covered up, but according to Contact Music, the new parents have an interview and photos coming out soon in the U.K.'s Hello! magazine.

Katherine tells the magazine (via Contact Music):

"We knew an approximate date of the delivery but we all know how unpredictable these things can be. So Josh and I were bouncing off the walls with excitement and anticipation just waiting for the call. It came late morning during the week and we were both home and on the phone together.

"Our first reaction was relief that all had gone well and that the baby was healthy, and then it was a whirlwind of preparing to leave and making sure we had everything we needed to welcome her home... It was late at night when Josh and I arrived at where she was being cared for. I walked in the house, threw down my bag and opened my arms so I could hold her.

No word yet on when the magazine article may come out, but you can visit Hello! magazine's website to keep tabs.

Jewel and Martina McBride do things a bit differently, write notes to their kids for Mother's Day

I really like this idea.

Usually Mother's Day is all about your moms (as it should be), but US magazine took a different approach and asked some famous moms to write notes to their children.

Jewel and Kase

Jewel wrote to son Kase about choosing a career:

Kase, your dad and I want you to find a career you're passionate about, like we are. Whether you choose music, or rodeo like your dad (I kind of hope it's not bull-riding -- so dangerous!), that passion is the sail that will carry you through any storm. With a strong sense of yourself, you'll never feel lost. Let that be your compass. -- Jewel to son Kase, 9 months.

Martinamcbride_daughters_hPhoto via GAC

Martina McBride wrote to her three daughters about life after leaving home.

Girls, go out and experience life -- but be careful! I think back to how naive and reckless I was when I was first on my own. So here's what I'm preaching: Don't accept a drink from a stranger. Don't walk to your car alone in a parking garage. I worry! -- Martina McBride to her daughters Delaney, 17, Emma, 14, and Ava 6.

Again, what a cool idea.  If you'd like to write a note to your child for their future selves but don't want to leave a note lying around that might get lost, thrown away, used for a coaster, or whatever, there's a very cool website called Future Me that lets you write emails to yourself, date it for the future, and it will deliver the note to the email you gave on the date you choose, even if its 20 years in the future (if you have the same email anyway).  I can't see why it wouldn't work to write a sweet little note to your kids that they could receive in the future.

Tim McGraw's daughters refuse to be walking billboards because dad's totally uncool

Tim McGraw headphonesTim McGraw photo via YouTube/official headphone commercial

My daughter, Caitlin, is 13 going on 24, and as such, I'm a total embarrassment to her and anything I do tends to bring a look of absolute mortification to her beautiful face.

It's actually kind of fun and explains why I love to break out spontaneously in Lady Gaga songs whenever she and I go shopping together.

It's the little things, you know?

Well Tim McGraw apparently knows exactly how I feel.

Yesterday it was revealed that Tim is the first country artist to come out with a signature line of headphones. Seems everyone in his family loves the sound quality, but not everyone wants to be seen using them.

Tim tells The Washington Post that his daughters love the headphones but are mortified at the thought of wearing them where anyone can actually see them.

“It’s tough to get them to go outside of the house,” McGraw joked of his three daughters, ages 10, 13 and 14, who balk at being seen wearing the headphones, which prominently feature his signature. “I’m probably the most uncool person they know in their eyes.”

Yes, I guess even being super famous can't save you from being an embarrassment your kids.

But no worries, Tim says that Faith has no problem wearing them.

“She wears them all the time, and was a big part of their design,” McGraw says.

Tim's new headphones, available in over-the-ear style and earbuds, will soon be available to purchase (if they're not already) at Walmart, Guitar Center, and JBL.com.

Randy Houser's little man definitely takes after his daddy

West Yantz HouserOh my gosh, what a cutie.  Looks like Randy Houser's 3-month-old son West has inherited his daddy's love of baseball caps.

Randy's wife, Jessa, is definitely the proud new mama, posting tons of baby pictures, including the one above, on her Twitter account.

Keith Urban makes bold statement about loving wife more than kids

Australia Women's Weekly Keith UrbanKeith Urban photo courtesy Australian Women's Weekly

This will probably come as a shock to many people, but Keith Urban recently stated that he loves his wife, Nicole Kidman, more than his two daughters.

Let that sink in for a minute.

Back a few years ago I remember a story went around that really seemed to anger people for reasons I couldn't quite understand.  This lady wrote a story for the New York Times about love, sex, and having kids.  In the story, the writer, Ayelet Waldman, had made the statement that she loved her husband more than her kids. Those were apparently fighting words because much of the western world became disgusted and didn't understand how a mother could make such a statement.

I personally completely understood what she was saying and didn't think there was anything wrong with her feelings, but I was one of the few it seemed. The writer had stated that she wasn't in love with her kids but was with her husband. She loved them all but in different ways.  It seemed a rational, normal thought to me, but boy was the world of mommies outraged.

It was amusing. I think the writer may have even gotten an Oprah appearance out of it, although I can't be sure.

Now it will be interesting to see if the world has changed at all in the last seven years because Keith Urban recently made a very similar statement to Australian Women's Weekly about how he loves his wife more than his cutie-pie daughters Faith and Sunday.

"We're very, very tight as a family unit and the children are our life, but I know the order of my love," the country music star tells the April issue The Australian Women's Weekly. "It's my wife and then my daughters. I just think it's really important for the kids."

"There are too many parents who start to lose the plot a little and start to give all their love to the kids, and then the partner starts to go without. And then everybody loses. As a kid, all I needed to know was that my parents were solid. Kids shouldn't feel like they are being favoured. It's a dangerous place."

So do you think this will this turn into a sexist thing where people will be more accepting of the fact that a man admits that his wife comes first in his love line or do you think people will be just as outraged by this statement as they were by the admission of the writer in 2005?

It'll be interesting to see.

Just for the record, I still completely understand where this sentiment comes from and think children whose parents are still devoted to each other even after children invade their lives are lucky little people.

Wow, John Rich just had a second baby that no one knew was coming

John and Joan

Now this is how you fly under the radar.

John Rich did Celebrity Apprentice and has been out touring with Big & Rich and somehow word never got out that he and his wife were expecting a new bundle of joy.

Well they were, but lo and behold John's wife Joan has already popped the little bugger out.

John announced the happy news on his Facebook page today:

Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome to the world.. "Colt Daniel Rich!" 7lbs14ozs, born 9-29-11....He's a real "Son of a Gun!" VERY Proud!!

Guess that keeping the little woman barefoot and pregnant and out of the public eye is working out fabulously!

Congrats to John and Joan and big brother Cash Rich on the new addition to their family.

Thanks to my friendly neighborhood Gabber who texted me the news.

Update: I've read a lot of comments in various places around the web and no, I don't hate John Rich, I'm actually very happy for him and his growing family and could care less if he keeps his wife out of the public eye.  I'm actually kind of in awe that he's able to do it so well.  I just write things as they come to me so all you Big & Rich fans with your pitchforks out, you can put them away for now.  Oh, and I'm really flattered that some of you think John Rich knows who I am and actually cares about what I write him - I think you're probably giving me more credit than I deserve, but thanks anyway.
