Jon Pardi Concert Review

Jon & Me

Capitol Nashville recording artist Jon Pardi was the headlining act at 99.9 WFRE’s anniversary bash held at Champion Billard’s in Frederick, MD on December 7, 2014. Not only did he deliver a great performance but I was also impressed with his traditional country sound which is rare in today’s pop country world. He took the stage wearing a pearl snap, jeans and boots. However, I noticed his fancy guitar strap immediately. Sometimes, it’s the little things that make certain artists stand out. I can also reassure you that his guitar strap is just one of many things that make Jon Pardi unique.

Pardi started his set off with “Write You A Song” which is also the name of his debut album that was released January 14, 2014 via Capitol Nashville. His debut single “Missin’ You Crazy” shortly followed along with some traditional country. He covered “Hard Working Man” by Brooks N’ Dunn and made it his own. I was enticed by his respect for the music he grew up on. Pardi ended his set with his first top ten single titled “Up All Night” as well as his latest single “When I’ve Been Drinkin’.” Jon Pardi has timeless vocals, admirable stage presence and exceptional songwriting skills. Merle Haggard says good music will live forever. The Hag was right, good music is timeless and Jon Pardi is a timeless artist. From his first-rate guitar skills to his one of a kind sound, Jon Pardi is exactly what country music needs in today’s artificial mainstream world.
