Taylor Swift wore some sort of fertility goddess dress to the MTV Europe Music Awards

Taylor Swift won three awards for Best Female, Best Live and Best Look at Sunday night's MTV Europe Music Awards. 

Good for her. 

But can we please talk about this dress she wore and it's unfortunate lower half design? If you look closely at a picture of the dress it's full of gorgeous bead work that probably took an entire village of Chinese peasant children a month to sew on piece by piece, unfortunately for Taylor the finished product gazed at from afar looks almost NSFW. 

I don't know, maybe it's just me and my warped mind or maybe the Greek fertility goddess look is all the rage these days and this was actually done on purpose. 

On a side note, I am making a trip to Seattle this weekend to take my nephews back to their mama. That means that next week my home will finally be back to normal and peaceful and I should be able to once again sit down in a quiet household and actually get some work done on the site.

Hooray!!!

What the heck did Julianne Hough wear to the MTV Movie Awards?

The MTV Movie Awards took place last night at Universal Studios in Universal City, California, and with her new movie "Rock of Ages" coming out June 15th, I guess Julianne decided to keep the 80s theme going.  

I honestly never thought Julianne could wear anything that would make her dancer body seem less dancer body like. 

I was wrong. 

Or maybe it's just a Monday and my eyeballs are distorted.

Personally I think Faith Hill got a steal when she paid $506 for a kimono

Oh to be a slave to fashion. 

People.com is reporting in their Caught In The Act section that Faith Hill and one of her daughters were spotted recently in Chicago spreading the wealth around by buying a "$506!" silk kimono. 

Faith Hill dropped some serious cash – $506! – for a silk kimono from Nicole Richie's Winter Kate line while shopping with her daughter at Sofia Boutique in Chicago. The singer tried on various dresses – a combination of new and vintage – but left with the coral and sky blue kimono and a free T-shirt gifted to her by the boutique. She also signed the store's dressing room wall – and was "very pleasant and beautiful," a source tells us. 

Gasp! $506! 

Come on people.com, didn't you read Memoirs of a Geisha?  I did and let me tell you that in my completely limited (and yet highly entertaining) dive into the world of Japanese Geishas, I learned one important lesson - kimonos are darn pricey and young Geisha would often become slaves to a Geisha House just to keep themselves supplied in the silk garments that could cost tens of thousands of dollars. 

If you ask me, I think Faith got one swell deal. 

Yeah, you're right, probably a different sort of kimono.

So who made those CMA dresses?

Something new that has been popping up in my email lately are emails from designer's companies letting me know who designed the jewelry, who designed the dress, who designed the shoes, etc. that the stars are wearing.  I don't usually post the info but I do find myself visiting the designer's websites to look at their stuff.  I did it again this morning, went to a designer's website to look at their wares. 

Then it hit me, why the heck am I not posting the info?  If I'm interested then other people might be interested too.  So from now on when I get a designer sending me a picture saying, "hey, I designed this stuff," then I will go ahead and post it just in case there's any of you out there who care about the fashion side of the stars. 

So, without further adieu, here are a couple of the designers that have ended up in my email lately along with their website so that you can go check out some more of their stuff if you're so inclined. 

 
Martina McBride attended the 58th Annual BMI Country Music Awards on Nov. 9, 2010 in Nashville, Tennessee wearing Jean Fares Couture. Martina wore a hand-beaded light turquoise full-length gown from the recent Jean Fares Couture Spring/Summer 2010 “I Line” collection. You can see more designs at www.jeanfarescouture.com.

Another star who has recently wore Jean Fares Couture was Laura Bell Bundy who wore a one-of-a-kind gown as she walked down the black carpet of the 44th Annual CMA Awards in Nashville, Tennessee. Laura Bell chose to wear a full-length, fully hand-beaded silver gown from the recent Jean Fares Couture Spring/Summer 2010 “I Line” collection.

Surprisingly, Carrie Underwood and Kellie Pickler's CMA dresses were designed by the same designer, Pamela DeVos, who has the fashion line Pamella Roland.  You can find out more information on www.pamellaroland.com.

The most surprising thing to me is that Julianne Hough and Carrie Underwood's CMA dresses weren't designed by the same person.  Julianne was wearing Georges Chakra Couture gown with crystal embroidery.  And according to JustJared.com, Julianne finished off her look with Jimmy Choo shoes, a Judith Leiber clutch, and jewelry from Swarovski.

Oh what a difference a year can make

Here's Kellie Pickler attending tonight's Dressed to Kilt fashion show in New York.  Look at how cute and sweet she's looking:  No wacky spiked hair, attacking powderpuffs, or straight-out-of-a-Scottish-romance-novel silk duds.

How completely unlike her appearance at the event last year.

Guess all the ribbing she got for last year's infamous getup got to her.

Lori spotted a very close resemblance to the dress Julianne wore to the CMT Music Awards last year and the dress Hillary wore to the Lady A Fan Club Party this weekend.

I'm a Nosy Nellie and I like to head over to my site stats once in a while to check out what people are coming to NashvilleGab looking for.  Sometimes I'm surprised by what people end up here looking for. 

Just a note to you who end up here looking for naked pictures of Jennifer Nettles, even if I had any or knew where some were, I'd probably not post them here. 

Now one of the things I've noticed people looking for lately is Kellie Pickler's shiny silver shoes like she wore on Ellen Degeneres recently.  This is something I can help you out with (unlike the naked pictures of Jennifer Nettles).  Fashion Ratty actually found three pairs of shoes that look very similar to those in the above picture and they have pictures with links so you can get your very own pair.  Check it out here.

That skirt looks so dang familiar.  Where have I seen it before?  Wait, I know, it looks just like the skirt she wore yesterday - only in grey.  She must have found a designer she liked.  When you find a look that works, why stray?
