Easton Corbin really doesn't want your underwear

Easton Corbin

It's sort of a tradition for women to throw bras onstage at their favorite singers, but underwear?

Ick.

While some guys might find a little flying lingerie coming their way fun, Easton Corbin isn't one of those guys.

Easton recently told ABC News Radio about one particular underwear interaction he had:

“I just kind of looked at them. I didn’t even want to know where they came from. I just flipped my guitar over and let them fall. I didn’t even want to touch them. That is not an ideal situation at a hot, sweaty fair.”

Yeah, that hot, sweaty fair part gave the whole story a much different feel.

So who wants to join me on the Blake Shelton & Friends Cruise?

Blake-shelton-bannershort
Uhmm.....ahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!! You guys!  Guess who gets to go cruising the high seas with Blake Shelton, Trace Adkins, Lee Brice, Jerrod Niemann, Justin Moore, Easton Corbin, Neal McCoy, and Randy Houser in October!

I'll give you a minute to think about it......

Me! Me!  Me!  Me!!!

I've never been on a cruise and never in a million years thought I would ever get my land-locked husband to agree to grow a set of sea legs and go on one with me, but my ever persuasive ways (AKA whining) got him to do just that and on October 14-21, NashvilleGab (which consists of basically me, myself, and I) will be hitting the open ocean aboard the Norwegian Pearl for a week of surf, sea, and country music...and maybe just a wee bit of drunken fun.

Now in case you haven't heard already, Blake Shelton has invited some of his buddies (see the list above) to leave port in Miami and take a cruise to the Caribbean with stops in places such as San Juan, Saint Thomas, and Nassau.  Each night a different entertainer will perform an intimate set with Blake performing on two nights.  There will be songwriter workshops, Q&A's with the stars, surprise performances around the ship throughout the trip, and of course it's a cruise so there will be lots of sun and fun.

Like I said, I've never been on a cruise which means I'm a total newbie, so if you're letting your lack of cruise experience hold you back from your dream vacation, join me and we can be total cruise idiots together and maybe even embarrass ourselves in the way only newbies can.  And if you're afraid you're not bikini ready, just remember I'm shaped like a potato (I am from Idaho afterall), so who cares!  On the ship, I want to hang with my people, so I want as many NashvilleGabbers as possible to join me.  Oh sure, I'll have my husband with me, but seriously, I see him all the time, I want to meet my peeps!  That means that over the weeks and months to come, I will be blogging about the cruise to keep everyone informed of anything new going on, but mostly I will be trying to convince my minions to join me.

So enough of that for now.  Be sure to visit BlakeSheltonCruise.com for more info and to order your tickets.  There's a great Q&A section there if you have questions, but you can also email me questions at Shannon@nashvillegab.com and I will see if I can find an answer for you.

Country Weekly Wants You To Vote for Country's Sexiest Man

SEXY

Definition of SEXY 1 : sexually suggestive or stimulating : erotic 2 : generally attractive or interesting : appealing

Country Weekly has given us the opportunity to select who we think is Country Music's Most Sexiest Man.  There are just too many good choices to make the job easy enough to pick JUST ONE.  What do we base sexy on when looking at these artists?  Do we base it on the above definitions?  Or do we look at a smile, the eyes, the "swagger", the "look" or just the over all package?  Are the things some of these artists do for charities etc add into the equation?  These men all have something about them that put them on this list & it is not all about looks alone. Is there anyone that we think was left out?

Trace Adkins is first on this list. Now I would put Trace in the first defintion of sexy due to his "swagger" & sexy dances at his shows.  But I would also put him in part two of the definition because I find him interesting and I love his style of humor.

Next up is the young man Jason Aldean.  His style of country music has put him on top with number #1's and a sold out tour this year.  He also has a "swagger" of sorts, and puts on a great show.  That appeals to me, of course those tight jeans & smile don't hurt either.

The choices continue on with an array of very different artists but yet some have the same qualities that make them sexy.  Jamey Johnson to me does not portray sexy that much in his looks as he does through his music.  He has soulful eyes that tell many stories without saying a word.  Jake Owen and Troy Gentry have smiles that go on for miles, David Nail and Billy Currington have "get lost in them" eyes, Gary Allan has a rugged look that many find sexy, Jack Ingram is a true country troubadour that draws you in with his Texas charm and down to earth attitudes.

If you want to add the "get better looking with age" thought process then Toby Keith, George Strait and Alan Jackson would definitely be included there.  Do the new "youngsters" like Justin Moore, Casey James, Eastin Corbin, Brantley Gilbert or Scotty McCreary have yet to grow into their sexy ways or are they already there?  One artist who was left out this year was Phil Vassar.  I find this to be a big over sight, a lack of good judgement if you will.  Phil is a great package of entertainment with great concerts, and a down to earth quality that I appreciate.  Spend some time with him or take in a show and you will get what I mean. No Chuck Wickes or Vince Gill either, two more over sights.

Yes, it is a tough decision to pick just one.  Maybe they should have given us at least three then they can narrow it down huh?  There is a lot to take into consideration.  Give it some thought and give everyone a fair shake., there is more to these guys then meets the eye.  Nope I will not tell you my choice, but I judged him on the entire package.  Good luck.

Easton Corbin bags himself a big boy

Easton-Corbin-Elk

Do you smell that?  It's the smell of animal blood and testosterone.

Hunting season is definitely in the air.  In fact, my husband's all packed and ready to head out tomorrow for three weeks.

Three weeks of not having to pick up his dirty socks and make his lunch for work at the crack of dawn.

Have I died and gone to heaven?

Well Easton Corbin got an early jump on things and bagged this bad boy recently at the Express UU Bar Ranch in Cimarron, New Mexico and posted the picture to his Facebook.

Nice one Easton.

Star Studded Line Up Kicks of CMA Fest's Nightly LP Field Concerts

Picture 029

Thousands of people have swarmed Music City for the 40th anniversary of the CMA Fest/Fan Fair. Fans packed into LP Field last night for a star studded line up.

Picture 130

Steve Wariner and Bill Anderson hosted the show on Thursday night. The first act up was Zac Brown Band. Brown said, “We’re very proud to be kicking things off.” Throughout their hour-long set, they sang hit after hit with special guests along the way. Hits included, “Toes,” “Free,” “Colder Weather” with Amos Lee and “As She’s Walking Away” with Alan Jackson.

Picture 011

Brown introduced newcomer Sonia Lee by telling the crowd they didn’t know who she was now, but they would.

Picture 018

Additionally, Randy Travis joined the Zac Brown Band for a duet of “Forever and Ever, Amen.” See tease of their performance below.

Brown closed his set with “Chicken Fried.” The Zac Brown Band pumped up the LP Field, preparing them to rock for the next 4 days at CMA Festival.

Easton Corbin followed the Zac Brown Band with a set including, “A Little More Country Than That, “Roll With It” among others as well as a song from his upcoming sophomore album. Corbin said, "We're more experienced out there this year, I think. Last year, was the first time I'd ever played a stadium. So, I think we're a little more seasoned this time."

Picture 038

Country music fans welcomed Sara Evans with open arms when she opened with “As If.” She sang her latest single, “A Little Bit Stronger,” and spoke about how the song has been touching fans across the country because anyone who is going through a rough time can relate to this song. Evans also sang her greatest hit, “Born to Fly,” “Real Fine Place to Start” and new single, “My Heart Can’t Tell You No.”

Picture 051

American Idol alum Casey James followed Evans with a 2-song acoustic set featuring “So Sweet” and “Drive.”

Picture 154

Performer of the night went to Jason Aldean. He is a force to be reckoned with in country music. He knows how to get the crowd pumped up, on their feet and ready to party. He opened with “Crazy Town” followed by “My Kinda Party” and “Big Green Tractor.”

Picture 195

The crowd went nuts for “Don’t You Wanna Stay” with the addition of Kelly Clarkson. Wow, that woman has a voice! The video below is just a tease. Sorry!

Aldean sang new single “Dirt Road Anthem,” “Johnny Cash” and “She’s Country.” Aldean ended by telling the crowd, “Bless y’all for a great year. We’ll see y’all on the road. Thank you very much.”

Picture 079

Picture 076

Ricky Skaggs, who has been around country music longer than Fan Fair sang a short acoustic set while the production crew was setting up for Brad Paisley.

Paisley closed the show with a 45-minute set with old favorites and songs off his new album including, “This is Country Music” “Old Alabama” with Alabama and “Working on a Tan.” Throughout the night during set changes, hosts Steve Wariner and Bill Anderson taught the crowd a dance to surprise Brad Paisley during “Working on a Tan.” So, when Paisley began performing the song, the crowd began to dance. It looked pretty awesome. I assume “Working on a Tan” will be his next single, with that song highlighted during “Country Music’s Night to Rock” on ABC later this summer.

Night 1 at LP Field was a success. Tonight’s concert features, in the following order, Ashton Shepherd, Dierks Bentley, Keith Urban, Sugarland, Lady Antebellum and Reba.

Easton Corbin Is The Real "Country" Deal

If you are looking for a country music cross over artist, you won't find it in Florida native, Easton Corbin.  This young man is the REAL COUNTRY DEAL.  Had the opportunity to take in his show on Dec 4th in The Chrome Room at Sante Fe Station in Vegas & was more than pleasantly taken back to the roots of what country music is & how much I miss it.  Nothing against some of the artist we have out there today, but Easton has a style that is pure country and it shows not only in his own songs but in the covers he did of the artists he has looked up to during his road trip to his ever growing popular career.

He smoothly grabs your attention the moment he comes on stage & you know you are in for a great show.  He did not disappoint with singing his own songs; "I Can't Love You Back", his smash hit "A Little More Country Than That", "Roll With It" & more along with a touching tribute in "Someday When I'm Old" to his grandparents who were a big influence in his life.  He covered Kenny Chesneys "Don't  Happen Twice", Merle Haggards "Working Man Blues", Alan Jacksons "Where I Come From", Conway Twitty's "Lay You Down" & Gary Allan's "Watching Airplanes" with a style that put his mark on these songs if only for one night.  Rounding out the night in the encore was an impressionable list of George Strait songs; "The Chair", "You Look So Good In Love', & "It Just Comes Natural".  There is NO MISTAKE why Easton Corbin took home three ACA Awards on Monday Dec 6th; he just simply proved he deserved them.'

101_7312

Before the show I had a chance to meet this young man.  He is a sincere soul who loves what he does & found it an honor when I mentioned that the first time I heard "A Little More Country Than That" I thought it was George Strait.  He is working on some new music for 2011; which at times a "sophmore" album can be a bigger challenge; but I have confidence this one will be as strong, if not stronger than his first.  He proudly talked about his appearance at the tree lighting ceremony at Vanderbilts Childrens Hospital in TN.  "The day was really humbling; making us thankful for our health & all that we have," he stated.  "It was a wonderful day to be able to put some smiles on those faces."  Easton is planning on returning to do room to room visits to continue to make a presence in the lives of those who need it the most.

Easton Corbin has gained a new fan in me; there is no doubt.  The audience loved him and I can now relate to what his fans see.  I look forward to more in 2011 and also for the opportunity to catch another show; they are ones not to miss.

2010 Country Music Award Predictions

Although another name for the awards could be called `2010 Miranda Lambert Awards`  Let`s get it started:

Brad-carrie-logo-AS10-hdr

Entertainer of the Year : Brad
Lady Antebellum
Miranda Lambert
Brad Paisley - winner
Keith Urban
Zac Brown Band

Let’s start off with the big one, the one that everyone looks out for.  And for the first time in a while, the line up looks different.  3 first timers make the list (Lady A, Miranda, and Zac Brown), and although they all did extremely well this year, I don’t think this is their time.  Brad Paisley is long overdue for the award, and it looks like he’s going to finally take it home.  However, I feel that Carrie should have been nominated and could have won it.

Female Vocalist of the Year : Miranda2
Miranda Lambert - winner
Martina McBride
Reba McEntire
Taylor Swift
Carrie Underwood

As opposed to the Entertainer of the Year category, this category is exactly the same, with most of the women having great years.  Martina probably had the least impact this year, and we can count her out.  Taylor: what to say about her.  She a worldwide phenomenon, however, she was pretty laid back for most of the eligibility, so she’s probably not going to win either.  That leaves us with Reba, Miranda and Carrie, and although Reba had a great year, she didn’t have the same success that Carrie or Miranda had.  And with the critical and commercial success she had this year (along with 9 nominations), it’s looking as if Miranda has the greatest chance of winning.

Easton Corbin's still waitin' on the water slides

Easton Corbin by Bev Moser (6)

Gab friend, Bev Moser, had the chance to interview Easton Corbin recently and he let her in on what he's missed and loved about being out with Brad Paisley on the H2O Tour.

Q: Can you talk about the H2O tour and being out there with Brad Paisley. Talk about the camaraderie and have you experienced any of the “water” part?

EC: I haven’t had a chance to take a slide on the water rides or the slip and slides; but It has been great to be able to sing in front of those fans. You hope that every night you bring in a few away from there. Everyone we are out with on this tour are great artists and great people. I have been having a great time.

Check out the rest of the interview here.
