The 49th Annual Academy Of Country Music Awards are practically upon us. With seven days left, it's time to break out the thinking caps to make predictions for this year's list of winners. With the continued saturation of bro-country on radio, the likes of Florida Georgia Line and Luke Bryan will most likely walk away with the most trophies, but could we witness a few upsets?
The ACM Awards go live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, April 6. Blake Shelton and Bryan return for the second year to co-host the three-hour live event.
A couple of weeks back, The New York Daily News posted excerpts from the "secret" contract that NBC has with contestants on The Voice, which suggest that the show could fix the results.
The Swon Brothers were once on the show, so we asked them what the contracts really said.
Aside from not being able to understand the contract (who can with all that legal mumbo jumbo?) The Swon Brothers figure the show really is rigged, but for a funny reason and not what you're probably thinking.
Listen below (or here if that doesn't work).
And you thought my dramatic reading of Florida Georgia Line's "This Is How We Roll" was funny! Okay, no you didn't.
Check out The Swon Brothers' dramatic reading of Adele Dazeem, I mean, Idina Menzel's "Let It Go."
Just for the record, I found Broadway's dramatic reading funny as hell. :0) - Shannon
If the upcoming ACM Awards monologue sucks, you'll have one thing to blame ... trout.
Blake Shelton visited the Country Countdown USA this weekend and talked about his upcoming ACM Awards co-hosting duties with Luke Bryan, and explained how a fishy subject got in the way of their recent rehearsing.
Blake says that he and Luke got together to shoot some promos (one you can see above), and despite that being the perfect time to get their acts together, they were sidetracked ... by fish.
“That would have been a good opportunity, but we ended up talking about trout most of the time. He’s got a little place he stocks with trout on his land, and he talked me into doing that with my place, and then I got excited about it, and he got excited, and started showing each other pictures, and next thing you know, the commercial shoot was over. So the commercials and our ACM monologue are probably gonna suck because all we talked about was fishing.”
While I'm sure their hosting talents won't suck this year, you can tune in for yourself to find out how Bluke II, Blake and Luke, do co-hosting the 49th annual ACM Awards Sunday night, April 6th, on CBS.
It seems all T.V. shows have at least one scandal in their lifetime, and now it looks like "The Voice" is having their first one, one that shows the popular competition might just be a little bit rigged.
Or not. I guess it depends on how you read the fine print.
Hey, looky, looky - Blake Shelton's helping teens score ... prom dates that is.
Buzzfeed has an article about teenagers posting their super cute "promposals" on Instagram and wouldn't you know it? The very first picture on the article is a kid who used a lyric from Blake Shelton's Sure Be Cool If You Did to prompose to his date.
There's only one lady who scares me more than country badass Miranda Lambert, and now that diva has decided that Blake Shelton is hers.
During a recent appearance on the Today Show, Miss Piggy, who had stopped by with Kermit to talk about their new movie Muppets Most Wanted, had a bit of a showdown with Hoda Kotb over Blake Shelton.
Pretty sure Miss Piggy could take Hoda in a street fight. Miranda? Well Miss Piggy might have more than she bargained for there.
