Recent ACM Male Vocalist of the Year winner Jason Aldean is
joining forces with television and movie actress Kristen Bell
to manage what’s proven to be music’s wildest night of the year, when they host
the 2013 CMT MUSIC AWARDS live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on
Wednesday, June 5 at 8:00 p.m., ET/PT on CMT and CMT.com. The duo
confirmed their co-hosting duties this afternoon after Bell disclosed this week
on Twitter that she was returning as host for this year’s show and teased who
her counterpart would be. Fans can read more about Bell and Aldean’s
back-and-forth correspondence on Twitter here.
A big ol' congratulations to Luke Bryan who took home the coveted Entertainer of the Year award at tonight's ACM Awards in Las Vegas.
I have to admit that I would have bet my life savings (which is approximately $75.23 at the moment) against Luke winning the award considering he was up against the likes of Taylor, Jason, Blake, and Miranda, but after watching him openly weep while accepting the award, I'm glad Luke won.
Here are the rest of the evening's big winners.

People.com has learned exclusively that Taylor Swift ex, John Mayer, will perform with Brad Paisley at this Sunday's ACM Awards in Vegas.
This won't be the first time the pair have performed together. They also performed together for an episode of CMT's Crossroads a few years back.
Other performers scheduled for the show include Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift, Kelly Clarkson, Tim McGraw, Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton, Jason Aldean, Garth Brooks, Luke Bryan, Kenny Chesney, Eric Church, Hunter Hayes, Jewel, George Strait, Stevie Wonder, Lady Antebellum, Little Big Town, Pistol Annies and The Band Perry.
Newly announced presenters include Faith Hill, Shania Twain, Trisha Yearwood, Gary Allan, Chris Young and Eli Young Band – joining Sheryl Crow, Kaley Cuoco, Keith Urban and more.
Fans can catch the 48th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards, live from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, April 7 at 8 p.m. on CBS.
Thanks to Keepin’ It Country and the ACMs on Twitter for
much of the information here!
40,000 tickets have already been sold this year for the
country music extravaganza that is the ACM Awards, and it’s proved so
successful that they are considering making it a week-long festival like CMA
Fest after 2016. The show will be opened by Blake Shelton and the Pistol Annies
performing Blake’s new single (which features the rowdy trio) ‘Boys Round Here’,
along with Luke Bryan, Brad Paisley and Sheryl Crow. Tim McGraw will perform
with Taylor Swift and Keith Urban on his new single, with appearances from both
the superstars ‘Highway Don’t Care’, and Hunter Hayes will debut his brand new
single ‘I Want Crazy’ with an exclusive duet with Stevie Wonder, working in his
songs!
Then Reba McEntire will introduce a tribute to Dick Clark
from Garth Brooks and George Strait, and Kelly Clarkson is to perform ‘Don’t
Rush’ with a surprise guest (not yet officially Vince Gill). In addition,
Carrie Underwood, Brad Paisley and Dierks Bentley will all perform within the
first hour of this star-studded event. Plus Jewel will be performing ‘Hands’ and
Tori Kelly’s
‘Fill A Heart’, a song she wrote for Child Hunger Ends, in order to
raise awareness for the ACMs Lifting Lives Moment. Also on the bill are Little
Big Town, Eric Church, Kenny Chesney, George Strait (solo), Florida Georgia
Line, Brantley Gilbert, The Band Perry, Jana Kramer, Lady Antebellum and Jason
Aldean. Luke Bryan will perform his brand new single, 'Crash My Party' during the telecast.
There is much anticipation for Blake and Luke’s hosting
partnership (nicknamed ‘Bluke’), and apparently there will be an 8 second delay
in order to cope with any mishaps that may occur between the two of them! Don’t
forget too that this is the first time a husband and wife are both nominated
for Entertainer of the Year (Blake and Miranda Lambert, in case you hadn’t
noticed), so look out for the hosts to mention that during the broadcast!
UPDATE!: As it turns out, Brad will be performing a song from his new album called 'Outstanding In Our Field', which features a sample of the late Country Music Hall of Fame member Roger Miller's 1964 hit 'Dang Me'. Vocals on the track are provided by Dierks Bentley and some guitar work by Hunter Hayes, both of whomwill be joining Brad on stage for the telecast. Announced presenters include '2 Broke Girls' star Beth Behrs (and star of Lady Antebellum's lastest video), Michael Chiklis of 'Vegas', 'Duck Dynasty' stars Willie and Korie Robertson and 'The Big Bang Theory''s Kaley Cuoco with Sheryl Crow, John Fogerty, Miranda Lambert, Scotty McCreery, Kacey Musgraves, Jake Owen, Keith Urban.
That’s it for now, although I’ll come back and edit if any
more gossip gets released! So watch this space. See you on April 7th,
on CBS at 8pm EST/PST.

The Academy of Country Music and dick clark productions announced today that Jason Aldean, Kenny Chesney, Eric Church, Tim McGraw, Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Lady Antebellum, and Little Big Town are scheduled to perform as part of the 48th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards. This is the second round of artists announced as performers on this year's broadcast. The ceremony, which will be co-hosted by Luke Bryan and Blake Shelton , honors country music's top talent, as well as the industry's hottest emerging artists. It is produced for television by dick clark productions and will be broadcast LIVE from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas Sunday, April 7, 2013 at 8:00 PM live ET/delayed PT on the CBS Television Network.
These artists join previously announced performers Luke Bryan, Kelly Clarkson, Hunter Hayes, Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton, George Strait, and The Band Perry, as well as the 3rd Annual ACM Fan Jam, headlined by Brad Paisley along with special guests Dierks Bentley, Hunter Hayes, and New Artist of the Year Presented by Kohl's nominees Brantley Gilbert, Jana Kramer and Florida Georgia Line. LL Cool J has also been tapped to make a special appearance during this year's ACM Fan Jam, emcee'd by Storme Warren.
The good times keep coming for Florida Georgia Line – and just this morning – the rising country duo has been awarded the Academy of Country Music's 2013 New Vocal Duo or Group honor, marking their first ACM win. FGL also scored nominations in the New Artist of the Year presented by Kohl's and Vocal Duo of the Year categories. The award show will be broadcast live from Las Vegas on Sunday, April 7 on CBS at 8:00 PM ET / PT.
"We used to tell each other how fun it would be one day to actually attend an award show," shares Brian Kelley. "This last year has been a whirlwind and we've had the opportunity to go to a few. With that said, we never dreamed we would win an award or receive multiple nominations. This is an unbelievable honor!"
Tyler Hubbard adds, "thank you to our fans for letting us play for you out on the road and giving back in such a cool way. This award and these nominations couldn't have happened without you!"

So the Golden Globes were last night. Both Keith Urban and
the aforementioned Taylor Swift were up for the same award of ‘Best Original
Song – Movie’. Neither won, and instead it was given to Adele for ‘Skyfall’,
which I didn’t mind as it’s a good song and Adele is a fantastic performer. If
it had stopped there, I wouldn’t have bothered writing this article, and that
would have been that. Except, this happened:
Tina Fey (how gorgeous was her dress?!) and Amy Poehler were
the night’s hosts, and after they both lost their category they proceeded to ‘get
drunk’ on stage. Of course the banter is amusing and everyone’s having a good
time, until, out of the blue, Tina shouts “and you know what, Taylor Swift... you
stay away from Michael J. Fox’s son!”
