I want to send well wishes out to Kevin Sharp who recently underwent a partial gastrectomy to relieve an intestinal blockage. It's said that he's home and resting comfortably now.

On a side note, I feel a little kinship with Kevin because at the age of 7 he moved to Weiser, Idaho, my sorta hometown and where I graduated high school from. Hey, we all need our little connections to fame. :0)

Tsk tsk tsk, seems someone doesn't like me much anymore. I suppose it was bound to happen eventually, but I just don't get it. One minute I have a friend in the blog-o-sphere and the next minute I'm having my stories picked apart and dissected. I'm just here trying to have a little fun, trying to get my piece of the public eye, trying to entertain my friends and have some fun talking a little country music. Don't people understand that I'm just a sensitive sorta gal? I mean I have my bad days just like everyone else, but all in all I'm a nice person, at least my cat thinks so.

Sigh. Now if you'll excuse me I must go shed a few tears and remove the piss from my post toasties..... ha ha ha ha ha ha.

Carrie considers acting

Carrie Underwood has conquered a lot of things since deciding to take a shot at American Idol. Now there's one frontier left to try out - well besides kids and marriage - and that's acting. Seems that could soon change.

"We had a lot of offers for different roles, but my schedule is full," she told The Wisconsin State Journal (via GAC). "If something came up that sounds like fun, I would do it. Not a huge role; I probably can't act. Maybe something little and fun."

I have a feeling if Carrie puts her mind to it, she'd probably be a fine actress.

In other Carrie news, I told you about Carrie and Travis possibly breaking up, but now they've been spotted hiking in the Nashville hills. How romantic. Last Friday, November 28, a blogger over at The Farmer's Almanac (not THE Farmer's Almanac) crossed paths - literally - with Carrie and Travis who shared pet niceties with the blogger. How cute. No pictures were snapped, but then that's sort of the way it works with these two.

I must say, it's nice to see Travis and Carrie have weathered the break-up reports and spent a quiet holiday weekend together. I'm actually really rooting for the two, I'm starting to think that maybe on the down-low is the way to go when your famous.

9 to 5: The Musical tickets now on sale

Dolly's baby, 9 to 5: The Musical will hit Broadway this spring, and starting today, December 1, tickets are on saleto the general public. Previews start April 7th at the Marriott Marquis Theatre in New York with the show officially opening on April 30th. Hopefully they've gotten all the bugs worked out with their showings at the Ahmanson Theater in Los Angeles.

Tickets are $65-120 and you can get your's here.

Also in Dolly news, the soundtrack to the original 9 to 5 movie has been remastered and is being re-released to Amazon.com. But if you want to get one you better hurry because they're only releasing 3000 copies. You can preorder your's now by clicking the Amazon link to the left; the CD drops December 9th.

Sitting here going through the news I came across a storyabout Crystal Shawanda winning five awards at the Canadian Aboriginal Music Awards in Toronto on Friday. Well that's old news I thought because I had originally talkedabout it back on November 13. Hmm. So I re-read the story. No, they were talking about this last Friday, the 28th. Double hmmm. I started to think maybe I had had a bit of a psychic moment and had predicted Crystal winning some awards two weeks ahead of time. Woo, just call me Shannon, the all powerful future-seeing one.

Then I followed the website listed in the news story. Oh, they're different awards. He he. Okay, the one I talked about two weeks ago was for the Aboriginal People's Choice Awards and the awards on Friday were the Canadian Aboriginal Music Awards in Toronto.

Sheesh, it's a whole ACM/CMA thing there. Now that I've got my Aboriginal awards figured out, Crystal won all the awards she was nominated for, five in total. She won awards for best female artist, best single and best video for her hit single You Can Let Go. Dawn of a New Day was named best country album and album of the year.

At the rate her songs are playing on radio right now she may be cleaning up at the American country awards next year. Good job Crystal. Better start clearing some wall and counter space for the awards you're racking up.
