This week Keith Urban and Miranda Lambert’s smash hit ‘We Were Us’ has hit #1 on country radio, and retains the top spot on Hot Country Songs for another week. In addition, it holds onto #2 on Country Digital Songs. Florida Georgia Line’s ‘Stay’ beat them out on this chart and took #1 with ‘Stay’, bubbling just under the surface at #2 on Hot Country Songs and #9 on Country Airplay, with ‘Here’s To The Good Times’ sticking to #3 on Top Country Albums. In addition ‘Cruise’ has returned to #9 on Country Digital Songs, and ‘Round Here’ is at #18 on the same chart. Blake Shelton’s ‘Mine Would Be You’ remains a good seller, charting at #3 across Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay, although falling a little to #8 on Country Digital Songs. ‘Based On A True Story…’ has returned to #4 on Top Country Albums too.
Joe Nichols is still riding high with ‘Sunny And 75’, and looks set to take radio #1 next week, coming in second so far. He also hits #5 on Hot Country Songs, but drops to #16 on Country Digital Songs. Luke Bryan is also having a great time lately, ‘That’s My Kind of Night’ at #4 on Hot Country Songs and #3 on Country Digital Songs, with ‘Drink A Beer’ moving up to #16 on Country Airplay, hitting #4 on Country Digital Songs and #11 on Hot Country Songs. If that weren’t enough, ‘Crash My Party’ continues to sit at #2 on Top Country Albums.
Parmalee’s ‘Carolina’ is rising still, now at #6 on Hot Country Songs, #4 on Country Airplay and #15 on Country Digital Songs, closely followed by Eli Young Band, whose ‘Drunk Last Night’ is back up to #11 on Country Digital Songs, #5 on Country Airplay and #7 on Hot Country Songs. David Nail’s dark horse of a single ‘Whatever She’s Got’ is up to #8 on Hot Country Songs this week, #5 on Country Digital Songs and #14 on Country Airplay, and Taylor Swift’s ‘Red’ is being aided by its CMA bluegrass version, notching #8 on Country Airplay and placing at #9 and #13 on Hot Country Songs and Country Digital Songs respectively.
Elsewhere, Cassadee Pope is still chug-chuggin’ along with debut country single ‘Wasting All These Tears’, still in the Hot Country Songs top 10, up to #12 on Country Airplay and a decent #7 on Country Digital Songs. New artist Cole Swindell’s bro-country ‘Chillin’ It’ is doing well too, now #12 on Hot Country Songs, #10 on Country Digital Songs and #13 on Country Airplay, pretty impressive stats for the guy. Also up this week is The Band Perry’s ‘Don’t Let Me Be Lonely’, the 3rd single from their hugely successful sophomore album ‘Pioneer’ and potentially their third #1 from the record. However, this week is a tad more modest, #7 on Country Airplay but #13 on Hot Country Songs and #22 on Country Digital Songs. Zac Brown Band, on the eve of their December 10 release ‘The Grohl Sessions Vol. 1’, see current single ‘Sweet Annie’ hit the Hot Country Songs top 15, Country Airplay top 10, and Country Digital Songs top 20, while Eric Paslay’s announcement of a 2014 debut album joins his single ‘Friday Night’ reaching #16 on Hot Country Songs, an impressive #11 on Country Airplay and #25 on Country Digital Songs.
Honorable mentions go to Darius Rucker, Lady Antebellum, Tim McGraw, Jason Aldean, Eric Church, Thomas Rhett and Hunter Hayes.
That’s it for this week; tune in next Thursday (at this later time) for another Billboard chart roundup!
