However trivial it might be, I thought this would be a fun thing to do, as in my view there tends to be a pattern with who Taylor Swift dates. Think of it as a puzzle/guessing game.
I know some you will comment saying “I don’t care, she’s not even country, I wish she’d stop dating everyone and writing about everyone she dates and just go be pop.” These comments crop up every time I write about Taylor Swift and go ahead if you’d also like to post them here because well, free speech and all (I know comments are moderated but we publish all that aren’t abusive or spam). But I thought it’d be good to enter into the spirit of fun, and hopefully some of this will amuse you if nothing else.
I have asked on Twitter and also some of my friends, so I cannot take credit for coming up with all of these predictions. Mass credit to everyone I have had this conversation with. Here we go.
Michael J. Fox’s Son. Self-explanatory.
Prince Harry. I’m alarmed by this suggestion but it was a suggestion all the same, and judging by Taylor’s closeness to the Kennedy’s, she likes a bit of a famous, powerful family... Prince Harry appears to have that down pretty well. However he doesn’t really associate with the music world as far as I know and is often out fighting as part of the British Army, so maybe not.
Justin Bieber. Taylor’s historically been friends with Justin, and now Selena Gomez appears to be out the picture and Justin is of legal age, maybe Taylor will make her move.
Ed Sheeran. The two were romantically linked in 2012 before Taylor became involved with Harry Styles, so considering Ed is about to embark on the Red Tour with Taylor this year, and has been quoted as saying he’s going to write his album while out on the road, I’d say this is pretty likely. They’ll write songs together, record songs together, spend time together, and Taylor has a history with musicians, let’s face it. She dated Joe Jonas in 2008, Harry Styles in 2012 and John Mayer in 2009, and even sang on John’s song ‘Half Of My Heart’. This seems like a given to me.
Anyone from The Wanted. Seems a natural progression from One Direction.
Any other member of One Direction. I quite amused by the idea that Taylor might just ‘do the best friend’ as it were, so this is on the list.
Josh Hutcherson. The Hunger Games are a massive movie enterprise which Taylor provided the soundtrack for and, seeing as Liam Hemsworth is engaged to Miley Cyrus, I thought Josh would be a good candidate. It’s been a while since Taylor dated an actor, he’s cute-looking and 20 years old. He has also cited Jake Gyllenhaal as an inspiration, and Taylor is friends with Jennifer Lawrence, his co-star in THG. Fate, no? All joking aside, I genuinely think he could be a serious candidate for her.
Hunter Hayes. I know Taylor doesn’t really participate in the country scene anymore, but Hunter isn’t overwhelmingly country, and seems like the kind of guy who would be totally infatuated with her. Right age, right appearance, the dreaded musician. Tick tick tick.
Barack Obama. Suggested by my boyfriend. Cracked up.
Bradley Cooper. Okay, so this was more a researched prediction. Apparently Taylor has asked Jennifer Lawrence to introduce her to Bradley Cooper, who has ‘politely declined’, as he is 38, 15 years Taylor’s senior. This would make some sense as Taylor might feel after the failure of her past two relationships with guys in their teens, she’d do well to date someone much older. I think perhaps 38 is stretching it a bit though? In two years time Bradley will be 40. Taylor will be 25. Either way it makes sense for Taylor logic.
Zac Efron. They were rumored to be dating some time back, but that was later decided untrue. I don’t know, I guess I just saw this working for some reason.
Sam Palladio. He’s the cute Brit who plays brooding musician Gunnar in ‘Nashville’. Dating him would perhaps save her teetering-on-the-brink relationship with country music, he’s both a musician in real life and an actor, he’s up-and-coming, he looks similar to some of her ex-boyfriends, he’s British, etc... This is probably unlikely as they don’t move in the same circles but hey, you never know.
Hugh Jackman. This was suggested to me by a friend, Hugh has a new project in Les Miserables to promote. Other than that, same logic as Bradley Cooper really, except Hugh is 44 and 21 years Taylor’s senior, but love is love, right? He’s also married but again, love is love right?
Adam Levine. This was also suggested by a friend, and he seems to fit the age (33), looks (rugged and slightly brooding artist) and occupation (musician) thing to a tee. He’s also getting press through multiple seasons of The Voice so won’t necessarily need Taylor’s publicity, but she might be keen to attach herself to another enterprise. He’s dating a Victoria’s Secret model but I’m sure that won’t be a problem.
Going Lesbian. Tina Fey did say Taylor needed some ‘me time’ to learn about herself. Maybe she’s done with guys, and her ‘me time’ spent ‘learning about herself’ will involve people minus that so troublesome member that has been the bane of women’s lives since the world began. Plus, there are plenty of hot single women around in Hollywood, and it would definitely shake things up a bit. Just a thought.
