Last night, the 90-minute special CMT Artists Of The Year honoured seven artists as some of the biggest names in entertainment dropped by to celebrate. Hosted by Rascal Flatts and Hayden Panettiere (star of ABC’s hit show ‘Nashville’), some of the presenters included Kenny Rogers, Sheryl Crow, baseball legend Roger Clemens, Kid Rock, Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame member Sammy Hagar, Atlanta Braves’ Chipper Jones and Nashville Predators’ Mike Fisher (who presented an award to his wife, Carrie Underwood).
Among Carrie, the other honorees were Miranda Lambert, Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean, Toby Keith, Eric Church and Kenny Chesney. The announcements of these awards were accompanied by plenty of performances and congratulations to the honorees from various figures in entertainment including musicians from other genres, sports legends and actors.
It was a night which summed up a year which has been very successful for all those honored, and I would be inclined to agree with nearly every artist picked. Congratulations to these seven superstars and I hope 2013 will be just as good for them if not better, and perhaps some of today’s rising stars will be honored next December.
I also must mention here how gorgeous everyone looked on the red carpet, particularly Miranda Lambert, but I think I’m a little biased ;)

What did you think of the show? Were the right artists honored? Let us know in the comments!

Really liked the show. Miranda looked gorgeous! Also liked that Sheryl Crow and Merle Haggard honored Miranda. Really LOVED that all 7 that were honored each said great things about the others.
