Eric Church is recording a live album from two shows at Chattanooga's Tivoli Theatre. The first show was last night, and the second show will be tonight. After Church wraps up the second leg of his Beers, Sweat and Blood Tour this fall, he will be taking next year off. The live album will hold fans over until he releases new music in 2014.
The Tivoli Theatre can seat about 1,750, and I'd say it was a full crowd. Thanks to Church Choir members, we had General Admission. I don't think we could have gotten any closer in the second row of standing room only. The only negative about being that close to the stage is that we were in front of the speakers, so we could really decipher what he was saying while he was talking to the crowd.
More great videos, review, and photos after the jump.....
Eric opened with What I Almost Was, Hell on the Heart, Pledge Allegiance to the HAG, How 'Bout You, Over When Its Over, Longer Gone, Gettin' Stoned, Jack Daniels, Keep On followed by an acoustic set with Sinners Like Me, Lightning, a new song that I assume will be called What Everybody's Thinking, and Guys Like Me.
I found a video of the new song on YouTube:
The band came back out for Country Music Jesus, Creepin' with Church on the banjo, Lotta Boot Left to Fill, Drink in my Hand, and Those I've Loved.
Church's encore consisted of his usual, Smoke a Little Smoke, These Boots, and Springsteen. Per usual Church grabbed a boot from the crowd during These Boots and signed the girl's boots! The crowd was pretty tame for a Church crowd, but it was a Monday night.
Church fans should hope he changes the set list tonight. Some big songs were missing last night -Carolina, Homeboy and Love Your Love the Most. The live album will be released sometime next year!
