It's the feel-good story that just won't go away.
Thankfully.
Many times when you read stories about concerts it's bad news about stabbings or beatings or fake tickets bought from scalpers, things like that -- this isn't one of those stories.
Patrick Connelly is a huge country music fan who just happens to have a few disabilities that keep him wheelchair bound. When he was lucky enough to go to a show in Overland Park, Kansas recently to see his favorite singer, Blake Shelton, Patrick and his family were disappointed to find it was standing room only and Patrick couldn't see the stage from his vantage point.
“Patrick started crying because he couldn’t see Blake Shelton, he couldn’t see anything but the legs of the people in front of him,” Cheryl Connelly, his mother, explained.
Cheryl and Patrick's sister tried to hold Patrick up to see over those around him but he was heavy and it was hot for them to hold him for very long.
That's when two men -- complete strangers -- stepped in to help, holding Patrick above the crowd for almost half an hour.
The story has an even happier ending -- Blake just happened to see what was going on and invited Patrick backstage to meet him personally.
That's where the story should end, except Cheryl wants to find the two men who held Patrick up to say thank you. Unfortunately, they disappeared before she could even get their names.
“I can’t thank them enough for what that meant for my family, and especially for Patrick, for what it meant for him to be able to see that,” Connelly explained. “It brought tears to my daughter and myself.”
So if you know the two helpful good samaritans in the picture above, give them a pat on the back and tell them Cheryl wants to say thanks.
