Grace Potter is currently on tour with Kenny Chesney on the Brothers of the Sun tour and last week while in town for a show, Grace decided to pay a surprise visit to her former school, Harwood Union High School, in Vermont. Grace wanted to be on hand to honor her former music teacher, Di Phillips, who was retiring after four decades teaching students to love music.
Grace performed and that seemed like a wonderful gift to her alma mater, but then later in the week Kenny Chesney had a very special gift sent to the school....a white baby grand piano.
It's said that Grace and Kenny had a conversation about teachers who had influenced them and Kenny was touched enough by Grace's tales of Mrs. Phillips that he decided to send the gift.
Very cool thing to do.
