Well it appears that Carrie Underwood hasn't lost her golden touch and fans haven't lost their love of Carrie as her new album "Blown Away" has blown away the competition.
It was announced today that Carrie's newest album has made history with its debut at No. 1 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart. Carrie is only the second country artist in the 47 years of the chart to have all four of their first albums debut at #1.
On top of that, with 267,000 albums sold in its first week, Carrie's "Blown Away" is the second biggest album debut for the year, second only to Madonna's "MDNA" which sold 358,000 albums its first week.
If that's not enough, "Blown Away" has had the best sales week for a country album since Lady A's "Own the Night" sold 347,000 copies back in October of 2011.
And lastly but not leastly, according to Billboard.com, Carrie has joined a very short list of ladies who have taken three country albums to #1 on the Billboard 200. Carrie joins Linda Ronstadt and Faith Hill in that honor.
Wow, good for Carrie, not that her fans doubted that she could make such an impact.
You can catch Carrie next when she stops by to chat with Ellen DeGeneres today, Wednesday, May 9.
