John Rich joins new singing competetion

With the huge success of newish singing competition, The Voice, is it any wonder that other networks are scrambling to come up with their own hit?  

The newest network to throw its hat into the singing competition ring is the CW who has ordered up the new series The Star Next Door, which will star Queen Latifah, Gloria Estefan, and John Rich.  

The Star Next Door was created by the same guy who brought The Biggest Loser to the masses and will feature the three musical stars traveling across the country looking for musical unknowns to take to Hollywood to compete against each other.  

Sounds pretty similar to most of the other singing shows out there already but maybe there can be room for one more show focusing on undiscovered musical talents.

The Star Next Door is set to premiere this summer on CW with more mentors to possibly be announced later.
