As odd as it sounds, not everyone is a fan of country music and not everyone is a fan of karaoke, but one man's apparent disdain for both ended up nearly costing his son his life.
William Carr Oller Sr., 70, decided to visit his 50-year-old son at his California home last Thursday, but instead of visiting with his father like a good son would have done, William Carr Jr. decided to sing some country music on his karaoke machine. Oller the Senior decided to teach his rude, country-lovin' son a lesson by doing the completely logical thing....he shot him.
According to Redding.com, the senior Oller told his son he was going to "shut him up" and then went outside to his pickup, got his pistol, and shot his son multiple times. He also shot himself in the leg while wrestling with police who showed up to arrest him.
Papa-of-the-year has now been charged with attempted murder, although pleaded not guilty on Monday.
His excuse for shooting his son? Oller Sr. told police, "He hit me so I shot the shit out of him."
Sounds sane.
Oller, Jr. is expected to make a full recovery.
