Why, Tracy, why?
So you remember the story about Tracy Lawrence and the concert promoter getting into the scuffle at the Smokin' Country Concert in Ohio not too far back, right?
Gads, I hope you do considering it was only like a week and a half ago.
Well Tracy and Elmer Cole Jr., Tracy's fisticuffs partner, apparently have opted to go to trial.
Trial of all things. I mean why in the world would Tracy want to go to trial? The punishment for a minor misdemeanor in Ohio is a $150 fine and probably a lecture in court.
Just pay the fine and move on.
I mean, come on, the facts of the story from what I understand is that Tracy picked the fight with Elmer (who just happened to be celebrating his 52nd birthday that day) over his tour bus being stuck in the mud and not being pulled out in a timely manner and then ended up getting his ass kicked - or at least Tracy was the only one of the two who had visible wounds on his face.
It all seems like a big ol' steaming heap of assholiness to me so it seems odd to want to drag it out any further. Of course, I guess maybe someone's planning on filing a lawsuit in the future and the outcome of the trial would legally show who was in the right and who was in the wrong.
Or maybe I'm just not a lawyer and have no clue what I'm talking about and they didn't actually have any choice in the matter.
Yeah, that sounds about right.
The rambunctious pair are set to appear in the Tiffin Municipal Court September 1.
