So have you checked out the new video for what I affectionately call Kristin Chenoweth's Bitch Song? It's actually called I Want Somebody (Bitch About), but come on, it's a song with the word Bitch in it so what else you gonna call it?
Anyway, if you haven't watched the new video then please do and tell me if you like the song because I'm completely torn. The first time I watched it I hated it (song and video). It reminded me of a well-done Saturday Night Live sketch or opening act for the Tony Awards.
Then I watched it again and was like, "No, I think I LUV IT!"
Watched it a third time and I totally hated it again. I mean she reminds me of this lady I used to work with who took every Friday afternoon off to have her nails done, had a huge bowl of candy on her desk but was never over 105 pounds, and skipped and whistled her way into work every Monday, fresh faced and looking like she was straight out of a Neutrogena commercial.
Man, I hated her. But I loved her candy bowl so it all balanced out. We had a serious love/hate relationship.
Yeah, this song is my fancy nails, fresh-faced-straight-out-of-a-Neutrogena-commercial, whistle-while-you-friggin'-work song. I hate you but you're too dang sweet to want to actually do bodily harm to.
This is the absolute epitome of bubblegum country. Fun and annoying and cute and totally the representation of all that divides the classic country fans from the new-age country fans.
Enjoy. Or don't. Or be like me and have a split personality and not really know which side of the fence you're on.
I hear ya. She has an incredible voice, a very put-on "Southern" accent (despite what many uneducated people think, we really do go to University and ... ugh so tired of stereotypes about Oklahoma and her constantly pouring fuel all over that fire!) and i wish Kristi would just use her real speaking voice.
She isn't Dolly, even though we know she loves Dolly. This song is not good. I say stick with what you do best, and please no more "Country"!!
