There is so much country music excitement going on here in Vegas & the announcements of the Grammy nominees were not overlooked. I have overheard talk all around town on how awesome that Country Music is a strong force this year.
I want to send my congratulations to all of the Country artists nominated; we have the usual "suspects"; Blake & Trace, Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood, and more. But it was also nice to see some surprises such as Gretchen Wilson & Jewel especially since the songs did not appear (at least in So Calif) to be main stream radio hits. So kudos to them for "GrammyNation" recognizing those talents. I was not surprised by Jamey Johnsons "Macon" nod; that song is one of the best off his most recent CD & to see it live adds even more credibilty to him.
But a surprise maybe to many; was David Nail for "Turning Home". HIs reaction to his nomination was classic;
Earlier I showcased the video during Thanksgiving & stated how special of a song it was to me & now I truly hope others can see what a true talent this young man is. I am proud of all the nominees for making a statement at the Grammy's but David has a talent I first appreciated about 3 years ago, telling my friends he was someone to watch. So maybe I have a good ear/eye after all. If you have not listened to his "I'm About To Come Alive" album; take some time to give it a fair listen & you just may really like what you hear.
A little side note; I wanted to add my congrats to my favorite Classic Rockers for their nods as well; Tom Petty, Paul McCartney, Pearl Jam, Neil Young & Eric Clapton. And last but not surely least; a big supporter of Country artists, Late Late Night Show host Craig Ferguson for Best Spoken Word Album for his Audio Book "American On Purpose".
Congrats to EVERYONE..Now off to more Vegas adventures

I really enjoy many of the popular male country singers, but of all the male singers I've heard in recent years, I believe that David Nail is the most gifted. His voice is amazing! He sings with such ease, and the timber of his voice is glorious. This is the first country voice I've heard in recent years that actually gives me goosebumps. It's a crime how underrated he is. Wake up Nashville!
