Jewel is looking summer ready on the cover of the July issue of Shape Magazine (via Just Jared) where she talks about Hollywood body image issues and how a Renee Zellweger comment made her attempt to puke up cake.
On being labeled “the chubby Renee Zellwegger” when she was just becoming famous: “My feelings were so hurt by that story, I ended up bingeing on an entire cake. Afterward, I actually tried to throw it all up, but thankfully I couldn’t do it. It made me think, ‘I can’t go down this road.’ I had seen so many performers develop eating disorders or try to control their weight with drugs, and I decided I would do no harm to my body.”
And speaking of Jewel, I'm so happy. About a year ago I had a video of Jewel on vacation where she was on a boat feeding a pack of hungry pigs who were swimming. Yes, the pigs were swimming. Well not long after I posted it the video was removed from YouTube. Not sure why. Well the video is now back up and running and it makes me smile to watch.
