Shania Twain has hinted at possibly heading out on a tour of sorts, but don't get too excited because more than likely you wouldn't be invited.
Unless, of course, you're a poor starving person in a third world country, then you might just be invited to the concert of a lifetime.
Shania attended the 2010 Swiss Red Cross this weekend and told reporters (translation here)...
For its ninth charity gala, the Swiss Red Cross has chosen to celebrate "the splendours of India". But it was also the opportunity to talk about these country forgotten by the media who suffer from poverty, malnutrition and diseases. Bangladesh, Bolivia, Togo, Swaziland, Cambodia and India also. "Major disasters are silent and insidious", falls under René Rhinow, President of the Swiss Red Cross. To quote the Mahatma Gandhi: "You must be the change you want to see in the world!
Honorary patron of the Swiss Red Cross, Shania Twain - accompanied by her companion, Frédéric Thiébaud - Saturday embodies this change. She who has more released album six years (an eternity!) and who intends to engage in a somewhat special tour. "I would like to visit people, perhaps desperate in sensitive areas, and bring them comfort through of music", she says. "I imagine something very simple, in acoustics...". "This would be a great source of inspiration!
Although playing an acoustic tour to bring music to soothe the soul of the impoverished Cambodians and Swazilanders would be a noble cause, I think going on an acoustic tour for your fans and asking for donations to send supplies to those people might just be a better tactic....of course that might just be coming from the point of view of a fan who really, really wants to see Shania in concert.
