You know, surprising things can sometimes happen if you just dare to dream. Just ask the graduating class of Piedmont High in North Carolina who will have a very special guest speaker at their June 14th graduation ceremony...Trace Adkins.
“I think it’s awesome that he’s the speaker, and that he’s doing it for free,” senior Kristin Keesler, 18, said. “It’s actually a real big treat for our school’s 50th graduating class. I’m a real big country music fan, so to have him is really awesome.”
“We’re a country school, so to have a country music star here is pretty big. Country music is very big at Piedmont,” student Dillon Helms added.
So how exactly did Trace come to be the special graduation speaker? Easy, a couple of students simply asked. Seniors Ashley Price and Jackson Hargett wrote Trace and stated how much it would mean to their class if he could find the time to speak at their graduation and Trace surprisingly accepted the offer.
No word on if Trace is available for birthdays and Bar Mitzvahs.
