I get so many emails from PR people saying please, please, please check out this artist or that. Generally I put them in a folder for later reference (or when regular news is really slow) and more often than not I never get back to the singer or group. Isn't that awful? I feel terrible about it but honestly there just aren't enough hours in the day. Maybe I need to bring on a person willing to take a look at all these new singers.
Anyway, a while back I had gotten an email about Matt Kennon and his new song The Call and about how powerful it was and how I wouldn't be able to get it out of my head and on and on and on. I've heard it all before and didn't actually take much notice. Well funny thing is I was sitting in the drive-through line at Dairy Queen this morning waiting to get breakfast (don't laugh, their non-ice-cream food actually rocks) when a song came on the radio that actually had me in tears. So strange when that happens. Anyway, after the song was over the announcer said it was Matt Kennon and the song was The Call. Wow! Great tear-jerker song! I felt the urge to come home and post about it.
You can find out more about Matt Kennon and listen to some more of his music on his MySpace and His website. The Boot also has an awesome story about Matt Kennon and how he was adopted as a child but recently found out that his biological mother had actually intended to have an abortion which brings even more meaning to this song. Be sure to read that story here.
And of course, check out the video below.

Very Smart PR Person. Could that of been Brandy Reed from RPR Media!? Had to be cause she is their publisist. She Rocks and there is noone better in the business than she is!! She has helped build the careers for the likes of 'Cross Canadian Ragweed, Randy Rogers Band,Bart Crow,No Justice' and on and on.... You want the real Deal? Go to RPR Media and BRANDY REED!!! You won't be sorry!!! She tells it like it is and knows what she's talking about. A songwriter herself and having Ray Reed (Founder of Cowboy Symposium and Country Western Singer,Fiddle playing Entertainer for over 40 years)for a Grand Father, she has had a connection to the music business all her life. She is smart and has something that most people in the music industry don't have...COMMON SENSE!!!
