Carrie Underwood has done a lot of stuff...she was an American Idol, she's had loads of hit songs, she was entertainer of the year, she's engaged to a hot hockey player, she's trying out acting. But there's one thing that may just rate highest on her list of accomplishments...she's now a Sesame Street character, or at least she's inspired one.
Carrie is the inspiration for Carrie Underworm, singing worm extraordinare. Carrie also recorded "The Worm Anthem," for the show that you can check out in the video below. According to CMT the Sesame Street episode is scheduled to air on PBS on Thursday (Feb. 11), as well as March 17, April 8 and April 26.
A little note, though, according to the Muppet Wiki (yes, there really is a Muppet Wiki) the episode is actually from December 28, 2009, so I'm not sure if the upcoming dates are reruns or if Carrie Underworm is going to have a recurring spot on the show. It's cute anyway so I don't suppose it really matters.

I did not know until yesterday that Carrie had a record deal that fell through when the record co had problems and changed hands. She also had been singing since age 3. Starting at church, then contests, fairs, college, etc.. She also released 3 independent albums from 1996 to 2003. She was an opening act for Diamond Rio, The Wilkinsons, Exile, Gene Watson, Billy Hoffman & Earl Thomas Conley. I have read posts that say she has not paid her dues--but seems like she has--also since Idol she has worked very hard to prove herself. Personally, I think she is an amazing artist and country music is lucky to have her. She very easily could have gone into another genre--but her heart and loyalty is in country. I, for one, am pleased that she made that decision. She has made some outstanding music--and much more to come. Her latest song Temporary Home is beautiful. May we all take to heart the message it portrays. Her deep faith comes through in this song. She sings and acts with deep emotions. KUDOS to Carrie.

Catchy tune--and a sing-a-long to boot. Cute!!!!! I am glad good things are happening for Carrie. She is a nice, down to earth girl---with a voice that can blow you out of the water. GREAT GOING CARRIE!!!!!!
