Stuck in Denver...oh yeah, oh yeah....

Stantamerican

Well I made it as far as Denver...so  far.  As any of you who live near Nashville know you're having sucky winter weather and it's messing with my trip.  I made it to Denver from Boise with no problems but then United shut down all flights going anywhere near Nashville.  Yahoo.  Got another flight on Frontier which leaves four hours after my initial flight but it's not looking real good either.  But I'm enjoying my time sitting in the airport so it's all good.  And the WiFi is free so thank goodness for the small things.  Denver airport is basically the size of my home town with Frontier and United at opposite ends of the airport so lets just say I'm glad to be sitting resting my weary legs.  If the Frontier flight ends up canceled then I can catch a flight back home if space is still available tonight at around 6. If the flight is full then I'll just enjoy Denver for the night.  Maybe I will take in a movie.

Repeat after me, winter traveling is fun!

I should sit here and work on Gab but I'm sitting in the glaring sun because it was the only spot that I could find a plug in to plug my laptop in and I think I'm getting a sunburn so I think I will move to a shaded spot and read a book or something.  I'll keep you guys updated on how my trip to Nashville ends up.

Oh, before I'm off and running...it's LeAnn singing Lady GaGa

Picture-253

TMZ had this fun video of LeAnn having a blast singing Karaoke in a Colorado bar.  I have nothing bad to say, they just all look like they're having too much fun for me to rain on their parade.  Besides, I'm glad to see that even awesome singers can sing bad karaoke.

Here's the 411 for this weekend

Okay guys, as I mentioned yesterday I'm off to Nashville this weekend.  I have a full day of my day-job work today on top of trying to get ready to leave tomorrow so I think I will probably not be on the site today.  I will try and get on tomorrow, although a large chunk of my day will be spent on a plane so I may have to wait until tomorrow night to update - that is if I'm not completely jet lagged.  It's been about 15 years since I've been on a plane so we'll see how that goes.  Anyway, I'm outta here for now.  I will definitely 100% sure be back on Monday if nothing else.

Trace Adkins don't like no itty bitty B-Team show

Flight 93 remembered on the eighth Anniversary of 9-11 Terrorist Attacks

Who the heck would think that anyone would ever think of stiffing Trace Adkins out of anything, but apparently last year the Grammys stiffed poor Trace and he's not one bit happy about it.

From CJDC...

You'd think Trace would be over the moon about getting to be part of the Grammy Awards, but he tells us that last year's experience left a bad taste in his mouth. "Well, last year I got nominated for a Grammy and then I found out that they have two Grammy shows. I only thought they had one Grammy show, and then I went out there and found out that the B team don't get to go to the big show. I had to go to the little show, which nobody was there, along with all the other polka bands and swing groups and jazz acts and us country guys, and then they called whoever won and nobody clapped."

Luckily this year it's Trace who will be doing the stiffing and wont be attending the Grammys despite being nominated for Best Male Country Vocal Performance for All I Ask For Anymore. "I ain't goin' anyway. I got a show that night. Me and Martina are doin' a show that night. She's nominated and she can't go either."

This is what I get for not being up on my Dixie Chicks trivia

Star Trek premiere held in Los Angeles

Okay, here's a little Natalie Maines info.  She's married to one of the actors from the TV show Heroes. His name is Adrian Pasdar. Adrian and Natalie live happily in LA. They've been married since June of 2000 and have two little boys.

Why am I telling you this?  Well because I, until about 10 minutes ago, didn't know any of the above and now I feel like a silly blogger.  See Natalie's Hero husband, Adrian, was arrested this morning on suspicion of driving drunk.  He was reportedly clocked by CHP going 94 MPH and was swerving all over the road and unable to maintain his own driving lane.  Then he refused a breathalyzer test, was arrested for misdemeanor DUI, and then posted $15,000 bail and escaped the pokey.

So all morning I've been seeing the blog headlines as I've been surfing the web about Pasdar being arrested for DUI.  Of course I had no clue who he was other than that he was an actor on the Hero TV show.  Then some other blog had the headline Dixie Chick husband arrested for DUI.  Ohhhhhhh.

It helps to be slapped upside the head with the obvious sometimes.

It was a blogging blonde moment.

Lady A wrote a birthday song for Ellen DeGeneres

OMG! I want a birthday song from Lady A. This is so great!

And speaking of Lady A, I've got two copies of their new album to give away, but you'll have to wait until next week because this weekend I'm heading to Nashville for my very first time (WooHoo!!!) so I wont have time to filter out all the masses of contest entries.  So be sure to watch next week when The Gab will get back into the spirit of giving with some new contests.  Until then, enjoy Lady A from their Ellen appearance today and their ASCAP party performance a couple of days ago.

And here's a video CMTT had of Lady A performing the surprise hit from Idol Pants on the Ground (at the 2:45 mark) during an interview at Sundance.

Some more LeAnn news

LeAnn_Rimes_Dean_Sheremet_001_230309

First off, US magazine has the standard "source" to give us a little more info about the song I told you about LeAnn singingat the ASCAP party in Park City on Monday which appears to be about her cheating on Deane and then leaving  him for a married man.

According to one source it's not about LeAnn's cheating ways and according to another source it 100% is.

Though one source tells UsMagazine.com Rimes penned the tune "during the height of the cheating" and it is "100 percent" about her ex, another insists it "was written several years ago before the situation with Dean and the cheating. I can understand how it can be interpreted to be about what happened."

So I guess that leaves the song open to interpretation, but with lyrics like "What have I done? I broke the heart of the sweetest man. What have I done? I broke the heart of the only man who's ever loved me. Who have I become? I hope you find someone new, someone who deserves you" I know where my thoughts lie.  But hey, an artist has to use inspiration wherever they can find it so there you go.

On a more serious business note, CMT is reporting that Vince Gill has signed up to produce LeAnn's next album.  The album will reportedly be a collection of country love songs that were initially hits for male artists with recording is set to start in February.

Terri Clark would like your prayers

Terris-visit-Aug-2009-1

Sad post here.  As many of you may or may not know, Terri Clark's mom Linda was diagnosed back in 2007 with cancer and has been fighting the good fight ever since.  Well Terri took to her blog yesterday to ask everyone for their prayers. I thought it was definitely worth passing on to you guys because with prayers every little bit helps...

Hello everyone,

This won’t be a very long post, as I only wanted to ask that you please keep my Mother, and our family in your prayers at this time. We just got some devastating CT scan results after she had been admitted to the hospital, as a result of on-going pain, and discomfort. The scans showed considerable progression of the disease in a short span of time. The doctors have done all they can at this point.

We haven’t given up all hope and still believe in miracles but this is, and will continue to be an extremely difficult time. Thanks for your positive energy, prayers, and well wishes…

TC
