The rumor mill it is a churnin' tonight about the possibility that Carrie Underwood has become engaged to her hockey player beau, Mike Fisher. But where is the rumor coming from?
According to MJ's Blog Colin Peters, (a friend, a cousin, a hockey player, or a canadian musician depending on what you read) tweeted a congratulations to Carrie and Mike. Reportedly it said, “Congratulations to mike fisher and Carrie underwood! We just got the call at our family Christmas get together 
”.
Apparently at first Colin Peters' Twitter was public (@colin_peters) but after he became very, very popular very, very quickly his twitter became private and, therefore, us non-friends aren't able to see the original tweet, although you can see the screen shot below.
In this day and age of Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, etc. it's quite often the oops of a friend or family member that announces great news like this so this may very well be a big ol' oops. But then again celebrity hoaxes also run rampant so I guess we should all hold our congratulations until official word is out.
But how wonderful to have a lovely little almost-Christmas engagement if it turns out to be true.
