The brand new Taylor Swift mannequin hits New York

Taylor-swift-12119-7

I kid. I kid.

Taylor performed at Madison Square Garden in New York Friday, December 11th, for Z100’s Jingle Ball 2009.

And in other Taylor news, the golden child is usually thought of as a great role model to the youth of today, but recently a group of teachers wanted to get rid of Taylor and her reported boyfriend, Taylor because of the situation they created just by being themselves.

Seems that while the two Taylors were filming scenes for their upcoming movie "Valentine's Day" at a school in LA they caused quite the ruckus among nearby school kids.

"When the students were let out for a short period of time, hundreds of kids were just running at Taylor and Taylor, screaming their names," fellow Valentine's Day actor Carter Jenkins told E! Online . "The principal had to get on a horn and tell the kids to go back to class. It was insane."

In fact, things got so bad that Jenkins says the principal tried to stop the T's from doing their job!

"He suggested our crew hide them for 15 minutes so that he could get all his kids back to class," Jenkins said. "But our crew was like, 'We're trying to film. We can't hide them.'"

Yeah, I'm thinking hiding Taylor (either one) probably wasn't an option.  I mean seriously, once you get a tween onto the scent of something they really, really want nothing short of a nuclear winter will stop them.

Michelle Branch's daughter is the official spatula licker

Michelle branch

So cute.  Michelle Branch talked with People.com about how important baking is to her and her daughter, Owen, and Owen's most important role in the kitchen....spatula licker.

"Once I had my daughter, Owen, I enjoyed baking that much more," Branch, 26, tells PEOPLE. "It's such a mother-daughter thing to do. It all comes down to being with family and doing something for your family. I think that's why we get an urge to bake at the holidays. We all get an urge to be close and spend time with each other over a cup of coffee and a piece of pie."

"She is really a great spatula-licker," Branch says, reflecting on her daughter's favorite kitchen pastime. "She gets that from her dad; he's the frosting eater."

Whitney Duncan has decided to sell the clothes off her back for a good cause and you can be the lucky new owner....if you're the winner that is.

From Warner Bros. website....

100% of the proceeds will go to Country Cares for St. Jude

Nashville, TN – Warner Bros. Records’ artist, Whitney Duncan, is giving one lucky bidder their own keepsake from this year’s CMA Awards – her dress! Whitney, who wore the purple Versace gown on the red carpet at the November awards show, is auctioning off the gown in support of Country Cares for St. Jude. Whitney was featured in the Tennessean’s CMA Best Dressed list along with Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift and Faith Hill.

The authentic Italian Versace gown has a halter neckline and empire waist. Starting bid for the gown is $250 and bidding is live now until Dec. 19th. The proceeds will be given to Country Cares, a radio fundraising event part of St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.

“I really admire the hope that St. Jude offers families who are going through such a difficult season in their lives,” Whitney said. “Just because you’re not in the same battle doesn’t mean you can’t help fight the disease with them in any way you can – every little bit counts.”

Whitney Duncan is a singer/songwriter from Scotts Hill, Tenn. She has penned songs for artists such as Lee Ann Womack, LeAnn Rimes and Chrystal Shawanda. Duncan’s self-titled debut album was released in 2007. Her forthcoming album, Right Road Now, includes her Top 20 single, “Skinny Dippin.’”

St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital is internationally recognized for its pioneering work in finding cures and saving children with pediatric cancer.

Taylor is on the best of the year lists....

Stsl04_bestdressed2009

It's nearly the end of the year which means that everyone is coming out with their best/worst lists.  Taylor's made more than a few of the best lists.  Today's lists are Teen Vogue's best dressed list and Billboard's top of the year who named Taylor their Artist of the Year.

Billboard says, "To say Taylor Swift had a remarkable year would be a comic understatement," wrote Billboard editors in announcing the honor, based on a review of the Hot 100 song rankings and album sales figures between November 2008 and November 2009. "She sold more albums than any artist not named Michael Jackson. Her first headlining tour, Fearless 2009, sold out every show within minutes. She became the youngest woman to win the Country Music Assn.'s entertainer of the year award, and she set seemingly every chart record that exists. But most important, she proved herself a graceful, timeless celebrity, handling hosting duties on 'Saturday Night Live' and a rampaging Kanye West at the MTV Video Music Awards with equal aplomb."

Over on Teen Vogue, Taylor made the best dressed list at #4.  About the stylish gal they say, Commanding the stage as well as the red carpet in flirty metallic cocktail dresses and high drama gowns, this chanteuse not only made her mark in the music world, but also got the fashion industry to sit up and take notice.

Also making Teen Vogue's best dressed list at #18 is Miley Cyrus.  They say about Baby Girl Cyrus, All grown up, it seems like this superstar found her fashion groove this year, leaving her Disney persona behind to command the red carpet.

Toby Keith talks war at Peace Prize news conference

X250

Toby Keith may be at one of the performers at today's Nobel Peace Prize concert in Oslo, but that does't mean he's afraid to speak his mind about decidedly un-peaceful things. And one of the things he's speaking his mind about now is the fact that he 110% supports American troops and also supports President Obama's choice to send more troops to Afghanistan.

I'll post video if I can find any or at least post exactly what Toby had to say as soon as I find exact quotes.

Okay, here's the videos.

Julianne Hough says huh?

Importimagesource=FPICFP_4178674_Hough_Julianne_SCP_04_0555085

I like this picture of Julianne because it seriously looks like she's sayin', "huh?"

Julianne was in New York Wednesday to make an appearance on the Alexa Chung Show.  I can't find an embeddable video of the interview, so here's an interview Julianne did recently with Self Magazine instead.

On a side note, it's being reported that Alexa Chung's show has been canceled and will not return after December 17th.  No word on whether the two occurrences are related.

Could this be Blake Shelton's Christmas lights display?

Epic-fail-christmas-lights-fail

Not a whole heck of a lot going on today in the world of interesting stuff to post so I'm gonna drag my husband out of bed (for some reason he took the day off work) and make him go Christmas shopping with me.  But I did happen to find this Christmas lights display on Fail Blog and it made me laugh. They labeled it a FAIL, I labeled it funny hunter humor.  And of course Blake Shelton was the first person that came to mind when I seen it.

What can I say?  I always think like a country music blogger.
