You know, I've had people write to me in the very recent past asking me what the heck happened to the sweet Blake Shelton country boy they all fell in love with. It seems like Blake joined Twitter and we've all got a taste of the real him, the one with the questionable sense of humor, the dislike of early morning fans in airports, and the desire to fight with PETA.
I still love Blake and find him funny, but then I'm sort of warped I suppose.
Anyway, we now have the reason for Blake's sudden change in attitude....he's debt free.
Blake tells The Tennessean..."The truth is I finally got all my (expletive) paid off," Shelton says. "Once you get everything paid off, it's like, '(Who cares) if you all don't like it.' I've got something to say. I think what's cool about it is, and has been in the last few months with Twitter, is really not being afraid anymore."
Well maybe Blake should call into the Dave Ramsey Show instead of distancing his loyal fans.
Update: Whoa, when I said Blake was distancing his loyal fans, I just meant the ones that are turned off by his Tweeting and newly outspoken ways. I'm sure most of his fans could care less. Sorry, didn't mean to start a Twitter war with the Blake Shelton fans. Haha. Gotta love the fans!

I've been an active fan of Blake's for about 7 years or so, and met him dozens of times. He's never been anything but gracious and welcoming. Most of the times that I have caught up with him have been on HIS time, not at at meet & greet. He's always treated me like a long lost friend.
A lot of artists are buttheads to their fans if they aren't in the meet & greet.
So while Blake likes to shoot his mouth off, if you've been around long enough, you know that it really IS who he is, and has been all along. He just hasn't ever had such an immediate audience for it until now, combined with a massive following that he can contact all at once.
He's like a starved man in a supermarket- he just can't stop himself!

Blake UNFILTERED is IN.
Politically Correct is OUT.

Those of us who are "loyal" fans are not put off by Blake's personality. If you've ever seen how he treats his fans and the people he loves, you would know he is a multi-faceted person who has a sweet, sensitive side in addition to his wilder side. If you listen to all of his music, none of this is a surprise. It is who he is, and we love him both for that reason and in spite of it. Artists are people and that means they aren't perfect...thank the LORD. I don't like everything Blake says, but I still like him and love his music. He's REAL and isn't that refreshing?
