The goat lady has a near run-in with a possible Tim McGraw impersonating man in a black hat....complete with band

Tim+McGraw+TM2020Publicity20Shot1

You know it's always surprising to me that everyone in this world isn't a country music fan...that not everyone would recognize Martina McBride, Garth Brooks or George Strait if they ran into them at the grocery store.

Heck, if I seen some famous country star in a strange, out-of-the-ordinary sort of place I might not recognize them either.

Well what happens if you're obviously not a country music fan and someone yells, "Tim McGraw! Come on up here!"?

And what if you're in the middle of an Indian casino?  Somewhere you'd definitely not be expecting someone to yell Tim McGraw! Come on up here!

Well Nanny Goats in Panties (yes, that's her real blogger name) has a pretty funny story about just this thing happening.  And she took a picture and wants to know if you think it's actually Tim McGraw.

More than likely it's a big fat no, but hey, the holiday season is upon us and maybe it was an Indian casino Christmas miracle with the Indian Outlaw himself.  Check out the picture and story here and see what you think.

This is how I will be spending my birthday next Sunday

Sara-Evans-christmas

Birthdays are usually very, very depressing for me which is probably why I keep bringing up the fact that I have one coming up....I'm getting prepared for the inevitable wish-it-would-go-away-ness.  Well this year I plan on having absolutely no depression.  Why you ask?  Because I will be spending my birthday with Sara Evans.

Yeah, we're totally tight.

Okay, not really, but thanks to Sara's awesome fiddle player Jonathan - who happens to also be part of a great new group called Tin Cup Gypsy- I will be spending my 35th birthday at Sara Evans' holiday concert on Sunday.

Yay!!!! I'm so darndit excited.  I get to take my daughter, Caitlin, to her very first official big-name concert and I will be completely undepressed.  It's going to be the best 35th birthday I've ever had. :0)

And the best part?  The concert will be stuffed full of holiday cheer and Christmas songs.  And we all know how much I love me some Christmas tunes.

And check out the video below of Sara Evans getting ready for her show.  She posted the video to her Twitter here. Be sure to follow her, she's got loads of videos and pictures and all kinds of fun stuff.

John Rich helps to keep folks warm

I_leftSide That jolly old fella, John Rich, is set to play grand marshal at the 57th annual Nashville Christmas Parade and normally I would laugh and joke about this fact, but since John's doing something really nice I will go ahead and be nice and commend him.

This year's parade is being hosted by Piedmont Natural Gas who says that the parade will be used to raise money to help area residents pay their utility bills. John Rich has gotten into the spirit of the season and the spirit of the parade and has pledged $5000 of his own money to the Share the Warmth Round Up program, the same program that proceeds from the parade are going to. The Share the Warmth program provides emergency assistance for utility bills.

The parade will begin at 7 p.m. on Dec. 4, starting at the intersection of Broadway and Sixth Avenue and continuing into Nashville's historic downtown, then concluding at LP Field.

Good for you John and a merry ho ho ho.

I'm so sad right now but inspired at the same time

JMV_3360w

I told you guys not too long ago about little Noah Biorkman who was in the final stages of cancer and his last wish was to get as many Christmas cards from people as he could.  The sad news is that little Noah passed away this morning at 8:02 AM.  But the happy news is that more than 1 million Christmas cards made their way to little Noah and I'm sure brightened up his last days.  Thank you to all my readers who took the time to send this newest Christmas angel a little love by way of a holiday card.

Here's the statement that appeared on Detroit's WYCD. Be sure to visit the site to see more photos of little Noah.

Update (November 23, 2009)   The family of 5-year-old Noah Biorkman of South Lyon is thanking the community for their support.

After a long battle with Stage IV Neruorblastoma cancer, Noah Biorkman passed away Monday morning at 8:02 AM in his home.

The boy's family issued the following statement:

"Scott and I, along with our families, would like to thank everyone for the continued support over the past few years during Noah’s illness. As most of you know, Noah has received more than one million Christmas cards over the past few weeks. The outpouring of love and compassion has been remarkable and we are extremely grateful. We are now asking for everyone please respect our privacy during this very difficult time. The funeral services will be for family only. We are asking that instead of sending cards and flowers to Scott and me; please make a donation in Noah’s name to either of the organizations below. With your donation, Noah’s legacy will live on for many years to come, if not forever." .

Piles of cards and gifts from around the world poured in to the family of Noah, so much so that the family has had to rent storage to contain the packages.

Thanks a MILLION times over to each and every one of you, who took the time to send 5 year old Noah Biorkman, from South Lyon a "Christmas Card" for his early Christmas on November 8th!

Does Saturday Night Live hate Reba or what????

Uhmm, all I can say is at least they started out by saying Reba McEntire was the world's greatest.

Thoughts?  Offensive or funny?

Kenny Chesney just says no to reality TV

6a00e552403d2f88330120a670b2aa970c-320wi

With all the country stars hitting the big screen in movies and the small screen for reality TV it's becoming pretty common place to see some of our favorite singers in roles other than on stage belting out a tune.  But one person you will probably never see gracing a reality series or acting in a movie is Kenny Chesney.

When asked about doing a reality show he says, "Never! No, my life's real enough, you know (laughs)? I don't think so. I really don't. I just don't think that I would. I would rather concentrate on tryin'to connect with fans in the audience and tryin'to write a great song and cut great music, and that takes up a lot of time, to be honest with you. I don't think you'll ever see me do that."

As for acting?  "I've even had a lot of people ask me if I want to act. I'm never sayin'never, but it's not something I wake up everyday wanting to do, and so I don't think I'd ever take a year off to go do a movie or something. I wouldn't be that good at it anyway. I think I realized doin' the 'You Save Me'video where it took us three days to shoot three minutes of an opening of a video. I realized right then I wanted my day job back -- that I was never gonna have the patience to act (laughs)."

So if you're placing your bets on the next reality TV star , your best bet is to probably not place any money on Kenny.
