So did everyone have a great Halloween? I took my kids out but we never were able to find a good neighborhood to trick or treat. I haven't been at all affected by the economy, my life has just sort of went on just like always and I've been grateful for that.... but tonight it finally happened, the hell of the economic downturn cut right into our Halloween fun. It's really the only explanation for all the porch lights being off and no one handing out candy. We went to several different neighborhoods - including the same one we've went to for the last 6 or 7 years - and there were far more houses that were dark then there were with porch lights on with people handing out candy. Even in the nice little subdivisions that are usually kid friendly, candy houses were few and far between. But I must say that one good thing came out of the lack of sugar houses...my kids will only be on a sugar high for a day or two rather than til way past Christmas. But as sad as the lack of festive Halloween houses was, just like everything that involves my kids, it all turned out fun and the kids said it was the best day ever. They're pretty easy to please usually. That's my two munchkins above. For some reason Jay decided he didn't want to wear the vampire clothes and instead went as a classic preppy vampire.
And to help finish up your Halloween, here's a video of Kellie Pickler ghost hunting. But don't worry, no ghosts were harmed in in hunt.
