As I told you a couple of days ago, Garth Brooks is giving a mystery press conference this coming Thursday but it hadn't been announced what it was to be about, what time it was going to take place or even where. I had wondered if it was finally going to be announced that Garth would be doing a show in Vegas as speculated.
Well it looks like my wondering may have been correct. My radio buddy, Broadway, sent me this email yesterday...
(Garth)Will be in town thursday to sign the contracts and will start after the first of the year.
So there you go. Will Garth in fact be in Vegas? I hope so, I think that would be so cool. Guess we'll know for sure next week.
Update: Samantha just sent me the link to Robin Leach's article on the subject of Garth in Vegas. Thanks Samantha...
It now looks definite after weeks of rumors and speculation that country superstar Garth Brooks is coming out of retirement to become a resident headliner at the Wynn. He’ll play in the theater that was to have been the longtime permanent home of the late Danny Gans.
Garth has performed only charity concerts since announcing his decision to quit recording and performing in 2001. Since his debut album in 1989, Garth has sold more than 114 million albums and is hailed as the biggest-selling solo country artist of the 20th century.
The official announcement about Garth is set for Thursday at the Encore/Wynn theater, with owner Steve Wynn handling the official duties. It will be carried live on Garth’s official Web site GarthBrooks.com.

Las Vegas isn't in Garth's backyard and his kids are still in school. Seems kinda odd that he'd take on an obligation like that now.
Vegas' economy is in the dumper and he'll definitely bring crowds into town. Remember how fast all his mini-tour concerts sold out? I tried frantically to get tickets but was totally unsuccessful. I know if our finances recover from the past few years, my family and I will be down there for a show. I haven't been to a Garth concert since his Ropin' the Wind tour, but love him and his music.
