For not liking Halloween I sure have had a lot of Halloween videos

38480182-caf35b213a01e80444bdc9a6e2d353a9_4ae6697f-full

I don't do Halloween.  I don't do pumpkins.  I don't dress up.  I don't party.  I basically suck at Halloween.  But I enjoy the Halloween videos - or at least it seems that way since I've had so many of them this year.

Enjoy the video of Amanda and Travis Marsh buying a costume for their itty bitty dog Cody so they could all three attend the Count Fluffula Event benefiting the Four Legged Friends Foundation.

Oh, and I don't dress my pets up in case you were wondering - well unless you count my two little monkeys (kids) as pets.  And I do celebrate the Halloween candy part of things so I'm not a total Halloween bore.

There are some great pictures of the Count Fluffula event here.

Brace your boots boys. Is this the new direction of country music?

Meet Jessie James. She's hot.  The song is called My Cowboy. That's probably all you need to know about this video.  Oh, and she might possibly be dating Billy Currington.  I seriously doubt it but that's a rumor that has landed in my email in the past so who knows.

Personally I like the song, not as a country song, but it's something that I would listen to off the clock.  Just in case you were wondering.  And I think it would be so great to dance to...when I was seriously drunk and without inhibitions.

Oh, Jamey Johnson makes an appearance.  Watch for it.

You can thank Michael Jackson for getting your Taylor fix a day early...oh and Taylor may or may not be having hotel liasons with a werewolf

Taylor-swift-fearless-platinum-editon-cover-photos

Okay, three Taylor things all in one spot just to save my fingers and your sanity - especially since I already posted once or twice about Ms. T today.

First off, I brought you the pictures earlier of Taylor Swift and Taylor Lautner at a hockey game this weekend, but now comes word from E! Online that the two Taylors were...wait for it.....caught entering a hotel together. And not leaving.

Shock!

Sources put the two Taylors entering the Beverly Wilshire Hotel around 10 p.m.—but they were never seen leaving!

Well Taylor doesn't wear a purity ring so it's all good.  Besides, nothing says that the two didn't enter the hotel and go to separate rooms so who really knows - and for that matter cares.  On a personal note, you go girl! Can I just say Mr. Twilight Werewolf is a hottie so more power to the feminine half of the Taylors!

Secondly, Taylor's Fearless Platinum Edition was released a day earlier than planned.  So why is that you ask?  Well The Boot has the story and it's all Michael Jackson's fault.

Taylor's new release was originally slated to hit stores tomorrow (Oct. 27), but it's been pushed up a day because of what her record label calls an "industry-wide street date adjustment," due to the release of the late King of Pop's 'This Is It' project tomorrow.

You Joe Nichols fans can also thank Michael because Joe's CD "Old Things New" also hit stores a day early.

And lastly, Perez Hilton is reporting that the Saturday Night Live folks are working hard to bring Kanye West on the show when Taylor hosts (and performs) in November.  And here you thought the story was finally dying out.

Psyche!

Jewel answers one of the most confusing interview questions ever in a most confusing way

Jewel_j-mc-400ds306

Jewel did an interview that started out....uhmmm.....well read the first question and see what you make of it.

Do you ever busk anymore just for fun?

I haven’t done that in a long time. It was tough work. Thank God for yodeling. I think that was the only thing that got me money.

Okay, what the heck is busk(ing)?  I'm so confoosed.  Seriously, other than the buskers out there, does anyone else have any idea what they're talking about?  You can read the rest of the interview with Creative Loafing that is far less confusing than the first question here.

And just in case you were wondering, busk or busking is "the practice of performing in public places for tips and gratuities.  People engaging in this practice are called buskers or street performers."

Whew, I was beginning to think busking was something that was only legal in Nevada.  Glad to have that cleared up.  That's right, folks, you come to NashvilleGab and you get an education.  Glad I could help.

Kellie is Country Weekly's most beautiful country lady again

42nd+Annual+CMA+Awards+Show+KvEfxvsBMyEl

You voted and Country Weekly tabulated and Kellie won...again.  For the second year in a row Kellie Pickler has won the coveted fan-voted Country's Most Beautiful Woman title from Country Weekly Magazine.  Rounding out the top five was Reba at #2, Carrie Underwood at #3, Whitney Duncan at #4, and Shania at #5.

Agree or disagree?  I must say I'm surprised -but proud - that Reba's #2, not that she's not beautiful mind you, but it's still surprising I think.

The full list is in the Nov. 2 issue of Country Weekly, in stores today.  Still waiting to hear who won the men's side of things.

{source}

Update:  I had a couple people email and ask me to list the rest of the top 10 so here you go...

#6 - Danielle Peck
#7 - Dolly Parton
#8 - Martina McBride
#9 - Faith Hill
#10 - Julianne Hough

Rosanne Cash...instrument of torture?

Rosannecash

I had read a few headlines in the last week or so about the fact that it had come to light that the US Government had used musical torture on people at Guantanamo Bay.  One of the rumored tunes used was the Sesame Street theme song.

Yeah, I can see that being torture.

Well my first thought when reading the headlines was, "that's why I listen to country music, who could use that as torture?"

But today I spotted an article in the Washington Post that lists Rosanne Cash as one of those who has taken up the cause of finding out whose music was used.

Could the great Johnny Cash's daughter's music have been used as a form of torture?  Well that's what Cash and other artists are hoping to find out.

Dozens of musicians endorsed a Freedom of Information Act request filed by the National Security Archive, a Washington-based independent research institute, seeking the declassification of all records related to the use of music in interrogation practices. The artists also launched a formal protest of the use of music in conjunction with torture.

"I think every musician should be involved," said Rosanne Cash in a telephone interview Wednesday. "It seems so obvious. Music should never be used as torture." The singer-songwriter (and daughter of Johnny Cash) said she reacted with "absolute disgust" when she heard of the practice. "It's beyond the pale. It's hard to even think about."

The government's response is that they've stopped using music as torture.  But there does appear to be a reason behind using music in the past.

"Sound at a certain level creates sensory overload and breaks down subjectivity and can [bring about] a regression to infantile behavior," said Suzanne G. Cusick, a music professor at New York University who has studied, lectured about and written extensively on the use of music as torture in the current wars. "Its effectiveness depends on the constancy of the sound, not the qualities of the music."

Played at a certain volume, she said, "it simply prevents people from thinking."

Well that certainly explains teenagers - there is a direct correlation between their lack of thinking and the loudness of their music.  Scary stuff.

Man-bat makes me laugh

I seriously laughed stupid hard at this video.  I especially love the bravery of the man at the ATM.

On a serious note, how did the man-bat hang upside down everywhere?
