Calling all California Gabbers

6a00d8341c630a53ef0120a4e25f59970b-500wi

Hey all, I have a great opportunity for anyone near Los Angeles who doesn't mind going to a concert all by your lonesome.  I've went thru all of my California Gab Correspondents and seems no one wants to email me back (or they're busy Thursday) so I'm appealing to my Cali-readers.

I have one media ticket to the sure-to-be-awesome All For The Hall benefit concert in Los Angeles on Thursday evening which will feature Vince Gill, Emmylou Harris, Chris Isaak, Melissa Etheridge, and Dwight Yoakam.

Can you ask for a better lineup?

The media will be let in for pictures at 5:30 with the concert starting at 9.  So if you're near Los Angeles, can write a review and take some great pictures to send my way and don't mind spending a late night at a wonderful concert on short notice, then send me an email to blogginmomma@hotmail.com and I'll see if I can get you set up.

UPDATE:  Found my Gabber to cover the event for me.  Thanks everyone!

Guess the Gams - Wizard of Oz edition

Guess the gams

That's right, children, it's time for another installment of the wildly popular (at least in my head) "guess the gams" game.  This go around we have a lovely lady on the red carpet showing us some bare toes and strappy heels.

Anyone care to take a guess?  Answer after the jump.

How similar is legally too similar? The Carrie Underwood files

Country unknown looking for a little publicity or a case of one hit song's music sounding just a little too similar to another song?

Really, how close is too close and should all similar-sounding music be subject to scrutiny?  Especially if the themes of the songs are completely different. That seems to be the question here.

Take one "country" unknown named Brittany McDonald and her song Bang, throw in a meeting with an un-named songwriter, add a very famous country gal and her new hit song and you have the latest plagiarism accusation, at least according to Perez Hilton.

Seems Ms. McDonald has a song called Bang that a certain un-named songwriter - and Carrie Underwood collaborator - loved.  Ms. McDonald met with the songwriter back in December and then nothing happened.  Later on Carrie cowrote her new hit song, Cowboy Casanova, with that un-named songwriter (Cowboy Casanova cowriters are Brett James and Mike Elizondo, take your pick to which is the un-named accused).  Now come the claims that Cowboy Casanova and Bang sound very similar.

Do they?  Is this a case of a tune was stuck in the songwriter's head and came out via Carrie's new song?  Is it a case of too little evidence?  Is it a case of someone just wanting a little publicity?  Or is it a case of who really cares?

Take a listen and let me know what you think.

Toby Keith is Nobel Peace Prize material

Ever wondered how in the world concerts with real significance or concerts to honor people choose who will be performing?  If you haven't then this just might make you think about it for once.

Billboard.com announced today that this year's Nobel Peace Prize Concert in Oslo will feature Toby Keith.

Yeah, really.

Now don't get me wrong, I like Toby Keith a lot, but choosing him to perform at the Peace Prize Concert seems a sort of odd choice.  I mean do peaceful, smart people really love Toby Keith?  Does he seem like a peaceful person himself?  Was love-everybody Big Kenny not available?

Anyway, congrats to Toby, this seems like a really huge honor.  Of course, last year Dierks Bentley was the token country singer so maybe it's not as huge an honor as it seems, I don't know.

Again, not that I don't like Dierks mind you.

This year's show will take place on December 11 and will be hosted by Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith and will also feature Donna Summer and Wyclef Jean.

Congrats Toby - here's hoping your song choices are decidedly less rowdy than usual.

And here's video of Dierks and Marit Larsen performing Beautiful World at last year's concert.

Kellie Pickler's director had no idea what he was directing

Here's a great video behind the scenes of the video shoot for Didn't You Know How Much I Loved You.  Funny thing is, the director didn't have a clue what the song was called.

Man who homeschooled Wynonna's children arrested on child porn charges

Wynonna

This just goes to show you no matter how famous or how rich you are, it still pays to pay attention, watch out, and screen, screen, screen because you just never can tell who the bad guy is.

Wynonna Judd has found herself confronted with what may be a parent's worst nightmare, a child predator in her midst and around her children.

News Channel 5 is reporting that a former teaching assistant who is facing federal child pornography charges had been hired to home-school the children of Wynonna Judd. When Wynonna found out about the multiple charges Scott Myers, 27, was facing she did what any mother would do (well besides doing a little ball chopping), she fired him.

Myers had worked as a teacher's assistant and camp counselor for three summer including as recently as this year and had even written on his Facebook about the close proximity of his cabin to the middle-school children he was a counselor for.

Ugh.

Despite his reported excellent credentials and references, federal agents seized 3,000 electronic images of children engaged in various things you don't want to know about from his from Franklin apartment.

Wynnona thanked federal and local authorities for bringing Myers' arrest to her attention and said that the arrest Had made her family and her community much safer.

Anyone wanna take a guess at what LeAnn found so funny?

LeAnn yucks it up (2)

LeAnn seems to be having a grand ol' time while out shopping for kitchen supplies at a California William Sonoma on Sunday.  The day before, LeAnne's new man, Eddie, spent the afternoon with his ex-wife at their son's soccer game.
