A few words about Chuck, Julianne, and a big ol' diamond ring

I had three different posts planned for Chuck and Julianne, but decided to go ahead and just combine them all.

First off, today is Chuck's 30th birthday.  Happy B-day to you big guy.

Secondly, it appears that Julianne has gotten the lead female role in Footloose.  Not exactly surprising news since the buzz has been that she was a shoe-in for the role and the director kept gushing about her, but it's nice to have a definite yes. Variety says:

"Dancing With the Stars" pro dancer and country singer Julianne Hough will star opposite Chace Crawford on Paramount's upcoming remake of "Footloose," contingent on working out scheduling.

It's Hough's first major film role. Crawford signed on a month ago to star after Zac Efron decided in March against toplining another tuner after "High School Musical 3" and "Hairspray."

Lensing is set to begin in March with plans for a more mature version of "Footloose" than the original. Dylan Sellers is producing alongside Ortega, Craig Zadan -- a producer of the original "Footloose" -- and Neil Meron.

The 1984 original spawned one of the biggest-selling soundtracks of its era and made a star of Kevin Bacon.

Lastly but certainly not (?) leastly, Chuck and Julianne were spotted last week and Ms. Hough was sporting a sparkler on her all-important finger.  The pair were spotted eating at Logan's Road House in Nashville and Julianne was wearing a big-diamond on her ring finger.

Anyone want in the office pool about how long it will take for an official announcement?
