Power to the people and their cameras!
Chesney World just posted thisupdate to the whole Kenny Chesney camera debacle I posted about earlier.
New message - Hey Gang! Want to clear something up! Yesterday, I posted a message…for 5 minutes tops at our message board ONLY. After posting, I received a call that they had decided to make a last ditch attempt to eliminate the recording of music at the shows and continue to allow cameras.
Cameras will be allowed at the shows for STILL photos only! However, if you are caught videoing with your camera or your cell phone…you are subject to lose them. Please help us keep cameras at the shows….by not using the recording devices on your electronic devices. We will have increased personnel at the shows helping us out with this, so we ask that all of you please let your fellow fans know that videoing is not allowed….if you happen to see them doing it at a show.
This is an ongoing problem…and we want you guys to be able to have photos to carry home…but not videos! Thanks for helping us out with this….
Glad to see Kenny's camp changed their minds before things got ugly.

The drunks that come for the Kenny party won't let this bother them...they could care less about pictures or videos..only their next drink. Now if they stopped the drinking at concerts plus this, then Kenny possibly could not fill a stadium!! JMO!

And another thing: those "extra personnel". They have to be paid, and I doubt the venue will be picking up that tab (at least I hope they don't have to) because its Kenny's people that don't want the cameras. To make any kind of difference in crowds the size of Kenny's they have to have A LOT of them at every show. How much could they really be losing out of Kenny's ridiculous concert sales because of pirated concert videos? Seems like paying the extra's would cost more than they lose with the videos. If they don't want them on Youtube they can have the record label work that out with them. This just sounds greedy.
And another 'nother thing: I predict this doesn't work at all. Lets say there is someone in row 20, in dead center with a camera. How in hell, during the middle of a live concert, are the guards going to do anything about this person when they can't get through the crowd to them? Maybe it was just the shows that I've been to, but no way is that happening pal. They can only bust the people they know are guilty, and if I'm in the crowd and see this situation sorry but I'm on the side of the fan, not security. I'm not making room for them.
In conclusion: Still totally stupid to me (and if I am totally stupid here, please let me know).
Rant over!
That is all.

That's what I thought. Still bullshit, but they backed off real quick. The concert gods still have to be appeased I think...

Damn cry babies. As much as it costs to attend a concert these days, you should be able to walk in with a full movie camera from Universal Studios if you want to.
