Email purge time again

Too_Much_Mail It's that time again.  My email inbox is filled to capacity with news that I never had a chance to write a whole post about but that might interest you nonetheless.  As always, most is copy and pasted so don't mind the many fonts, colors, sizes, etc.  I suppose maybe it makes it more interesting being multicolored/fonted/sized.  If anything catches your fancy you can email me and I'll send you the original email.

**Reader Brandi wants you to know that Jimmy Wayne's new single, “I’ll Be That” will be released on Tuesday, May 26th.  You can listen to the whole song on YouTube here.  Brandi is also one of those trying to get Jimmy Wayne Day to catch on and says:  The first Friday of each month being Jimmy Wayne Day (If Hallmark can create holidays, why can we?). As luck would have it, the next one will be June 5th -- the first night of the American Saturday Night tour! Talk about a coincidence?

**John Michael Montgomery is co-hosting the infomercial promoting TIME LIFE’S new country music CD Box Set – COUNTRY MUSIC EXPLOSIONthat began airing nationwide April 24.  The new CD compilation features 160 songs from some of country music’s current superstars such as Kenny Chesney, Carrie Underwood, Sugarland, Brad Paisley, George Strait, Alan Jackson, Brooks & Dunn, Craig Morgan, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill and others as well as three hits, “I Can Love You Like that”, “I Swear” and “I Love The Way You Love Me,” from Montgomery himself.  The infomercial was filmed at The Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville.  You can check out some bloopers from the making of the infomercial hereand check out an interview JMM did about the infomercial here.

**Grand Ole Opry member Josh Turner will get his summer started this year as host of the America’s AOW-Josh_fullsizeOpry Weekend Summer Kick-Off SpecialMemorial Day Weekend. Turner, whose own summertime hits have included “Would You Go With Me” and “Firecracker,” will help spin tunes from some of this summer’s most anticipated country tours and will play other songs celebrating summer, including live cuts from the Opry stage.

More news after the jump.....

**Multi-platinum selling group Lonestarwill kick off the CMA Music Festival June 8 with the fifth annual “Lonestar & Friends Strike Out For The Kids,”  at Hermitage Lanes. The sold out strike-and-spare bowling party where fans bowl alongside their favorite artists will raise money and awareness for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, one of the world’s premier centers for the research and treatment of pediatric cancer and other catastrophic childhood diseases.  Celebrities like Chris Young, Buddy Jewell, Trent Tomlinson and Bo Bice will join Lonestar and host bowling lanes for the party, which is sponsored by Great American Country. Three lucky fans’ names will be drawn to bowl a game with each artist.  In addition, a silent auction will be held throughout the evening featuring unique items from some of country music’s biggest stars, including custom-made bowling shirts autographed by each attending celebrity.  Net proceeds will benefit the groundbreaking research and lifesaving care at St. Jude.

**Make sure to check out a fabulous concert review of country crooner Chris Young from his rockin’ concert this past weekend at the Cullman Agricultural Center in Alabama by our contributing writer Lisa Vaughn!  Check out the concert review here http://www.countrystarscentral.com/chrisyoungreview.htm
