It's that time again. My email inbox is filled to capacity with news that I never had a chance to write a whole post about but that might interest you nonetheless. As always, most is copy and pasted so don't mind the many fonts, colors, sizes, etc. I suppose maybe it makes it more interesting being multicolored/fonted/sized. **Reader Brandi wants you to know that Jimmy Wayne's new single, “I’ll Be That” will be released on Tuesday, May 26th. You can listen to the whole song on YouTube here. Brandi is also one of those trying to get Jimmy Wayne Day to catch on and says: The first Friday of each month being Jimmy Wayne Day (If Hallmark can create holidays, why can we?). As luck would have it, the next one will be June 5th -- the first night of the American Saturday Night tour! Talk about a coincidence?
**John Michael Montgomery is co-hosting the infomercial promoting TIME LIFE’S new country music CD Box Set – COUNTRY MUSIC EXPLOSIONthat began airing nationwide April 24. The new CD compilation features 160 songs from some of country music’s current superstars such as Kenny Chesney, Carrie Underwood, Sugarland, Brad Paisley, George Strait, Alan Jackson, Brooks & Dunn, Craig Morgan, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill and others as well as three hits, “I Can Love You Like that”, “I Swear” and “I Love The Way You Love Me,” from Montgomery himself. The infomercial was filmed at The Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville. **Grand Ole Opry member Josh Turner will get his summer started this year as host of the America’s Opry Weekend Summer Kick-Off SpecialMemorial Day Weekend. Turner, whose own summertime hits have included “Would You Go With Me” and “Firecracker,” will help spin tunes from some of this summer’s most anticipated country tours and will play other songs celebrating summer, including live cuts from the Opry stage.
