I've had people ask me if I had heard a cause of death for George Strait's brother, John "Buddy" Strait, who died last month. The coroner finally released a cause of death today.
According to MySanAntonio.com the death has been ruled an accident caused by methadone toxicity and heart disease. Methadone is a very strong narcotic pain reliever used for things such as heroin withdrawal.
I'm sure that the Strait family is happy to have the mystery solved.

Pam, Paula and myself played music at a party at the Armagosa Ranch for Buddy, his wife and some friends. They were both fun loving and happy people. He payed us an extra $100.00 to play longer. He had a sweet spirit and a kind heart. I also had the pleasure of waiting on him at the Jim Wells county tax office back in '92. Always polite. i had to take methadone with 4 neck surgery with rods, and i had a heck of a time getting off it...i really can take over your life ...jg

Methadone is a very strong narcotic, but is used for other things besides heroin withdrawl. It's also used by a lot of people with bad back pain.
