When Carrie performed after being introduced by the fallen soldier's wife at the CMAs last fall it was a real tearjerker. Well Trace Adkins is planning something similar for the April 5 ACM Awards and it's not your tears he's worried about, it's his own.
"I have to admit I'm a little anxious about it," Adkins said. "I'm going to be introduced by a wounded veteran."
"I just really hope the emotion doesn't overwhelm me," he said. "I hope I can be a professional and get through this thing."
On top of the soldier introduction, Trace will also be singing with the West Point Glee Club to perform for the first time live "Til the Last Shot's Fired."
"It's a song that just begs the question of 'What if soldiers that are killed in combat or are in this, sort of, limbo and can't rest until there's peace, until the last shot is fired,' " Trace said.
Okay, if Trace breaks down on stage I WILL NOT be able to get through the rest of the show. Nothing gets to me quicker than a man crying.
Be strong big guy, be strong.
