For all you out there who like to jump the gun a little, I Heart Music is giving us an early taste of John Rich's solo album, Son of a Preacher Man, just a wee bit early. The album is set to be released March 24.
Take a listen to the whole album here.

"The Good Lord and The Man" could possibly be John's greatest song to date and that's saying a lot when you stack it up to all the big hits he's wrote (Lost In This Moment, Hicktown, Redneck Woman, Amarillo Sky, Like we Never Loved at All, etc.) He can get real serious on this album, rocked up a couple times, and down to earth middle America with the variety on the album. I'll be making a trip to the store March 24th to get this for sure!

Official word at the Big & Rich fan club site is that they had to scrap the 100,000 autograph project when the release was changed from May to March. The man needs his hands to play guitar, after all!
I'm a fan of his music and I was surprised by how much I enjoyed listening to the album. I don't expect to be buying it next week, but I'll have it eventually. I'll probably wear the digital coding out of "Why Does Somebody Always Have to Die."

I listened to the cd and I really love it. JR sounds great and the songs he's written are very good. I don't like the title or lyrics to "Drive Myself to Drink" but I like what he did with the song. JR said he wanted to make a record like his idol Frank Sinatra and that song has that type of sound to it. I could actually picture 'ol blue eyes' himself singing it. Anyway I just wanted to share my thoughts and I can't wait to get my own copy next week. I'm still hoping JR is autographing the first 100,000 copies but haven't heard for sure. That would be really cool!
