Crystal Shawanda's made it clear that she's proud of her roots and now her roots are showing how proud they are of her.
Crystal was voted a top winner at this year’s Aboriginal People’s Choice Music Awards.
Anyone here know these awards even existed?
Crystal was nominated in three of the night’s categories, winning all three. Her debut album, Dawn of a New Day, was voted Best Country CD and her hit song, You Can Let Go, won Single of the Year for Canada’s fastest rising country single.
Crystal also won an award for best new artist. She performed her new single, “My Roots Are Showing,” at the event which was held in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada last Friday.
