There's a new western coming to town and now it appears there may be a new singer too.
Actor Ed Harris co-wrote, directed, and stars in the new movie Appaloosa, but if you take a look at the soundtrack for the movie, you'll also find he sang two of the songs.
The one I like is "You'll Never Leave My Heart." It's sure to not make it to radio, but it's one of those songs that's comforting, like listening to your grandpa sing while your sitting around the campfire on a summer's evening. It's soothing.
When asked if singing was Ed's new career, he told EW.com, "Not at all. I just was up late one night and thought I'd write this tune out. It was just really for fun."

The lyrics of the song are much deeper and better than most people realise. You have to have lived with a woman who has narcissistic Personality disorder to understand. It's a complex, confusing, extraordinary existence. The song IS about living with and loving an NPD. I have no doubt of it. Harris may not know the name of what he has experienced but that is what it is. Mostly NPD's are written off as sort of automatons who have no empathy, no conscience, and cannot love (except themselves). They do exactly what is described in the song and again he has that just right. They know their behaviour (whoring) is bad but they excuse themselves....yet...those of us...well some of us in some of them, can see they are so scared and lonely. We can see (or think we can) a "truth inside you somewhere that doesn't have to play at being scared and lonely , of bein so darned loose." It's the great conundrum of being with and loving an N.
It's a much deeper and more meaningful song than most people realise.
